Username/password
I was wondering what’s the best way and places to save usernames and passwords. Currently, I am using notepad, and I was wondering if using an application would be a better choice

If you value your privacy, best place is pen on paper, with the physical document stored securely.

If you want to have it in your own hands, I would say go for: KeePass
OpenSource and Free to use. Much better than a notepad file in clear text. |

Went with LastPass. Works in my web browser on desktop, and in my phone, also offers to auto-fill on both desktop browsers and android's firefox, syncs the passwords between both devices, protected by a strong password on desktop and by my fingerprint on the phone. Free like that, but I would have to spend money if I were to add another device.

But if you're as lazy as me try a .bin file stored in your win32 system folder. make it read only and start the name with Winblahsomething005 and make the file hidden. I do a sort-of version of this for bank and credit card logins.
