Here's a cool story: King Diamond recently played his first ever show in Mexico and was recognized by the Mexican government for his music career and contributions to universal culture. The award was presented by the Technical Secretary to the Presidential staff. King posted these pics on Facebook. I believe that's the Technical Secretary in the second pic.

I took essentially the exact same path starting off with Deep Purple and Pink Floyd, except after Sabbath I got into Black Metal.

Really excited to learn that Dark Angel have reformed and are working on a new album. Can't wait for this one to drop.

I'm also getting withdrawals for a new King Diamond album. It's been 10 years since the last one and now that he's fully recovered from his health issues, I keep hoping for any news on that front. So far he's been concentrating on touring and playing festivals rather than recording.

That would be awesome! I fell in love with King's music back in 1988 because every album sounded like a metal musical score for a supernatural horror film.
