Maybe I'm just nostalgic but there's something oddly sad knowing that Penthouse is going to a all digital format. No more issues in print.

It's probably that I'm just old enough to remember what porn was like back in the day before it was mainstream- and not that Penthouse was ever truly hardcore in comparison to the stuff that's out there now. I just harken back to the days when it was just Playboy and Penthouse. Playboy would be the ones that would never show anything remotely hardcore but would be the ones who would pay for celebrity tits. Penthouse was always the one that would push the bounds by showing open crotch shots, pissing, and hard core. Guccione always wanted to be a trendsetter but would seem to latch onto fads than anything else.

It's also been ages since I purchased a print issue of anything but I guess I'll sadly mourn a part of my youth when porn was printed and secretly stashed.

My dad had a subscription to Penthouse, and I remember they were the first magazines I would sneak peaks of. So I have a place in my heart for that brand, but I haven't even thought of that name in many years.
These days I am surprised any porn magazine is still in print. Last I saw, issues of Club etc. were ten bucks or more. I guess only those sad souls without internet would need something like that.

I think I still have a couple of penthouse magazines but I never had a subscription. I'm considering waiting a while and see if I can sell all of my mags for a few extra pense.

It's too bad. Playboy used to be awesome. I never gave a shit about the articles but they certainly photographed some of the most gorgeous women of all time.

I remember buying my first Penthouse, they showed pussy, but not open. Then they started showing open pussy and me and my friends were in heaven.

Many people used to buy them for the letters (Xaveria) and my local bookshop had a pile this high of them every month when they came out. They were VERY popular.

I spent many a night in a motel with the latest copy.

They were the only ones who could actually get the celebrities to take it off in a semi-legit way. Guys like Guccione and Flynt would always have to pay through the nose for the older pics that were sometimes shot when the celebs were nobodies. Hef was always pretty cagey when it came to getting the scoop on some pretty gorgeous women.

Does anyone know if they got rid of their other offshoots such as Forum, Penthouse Letters, The Girls of Penthouse, and all of those other "specials"? I'm curious if they totally ditched all print and went all digital. Not that I picked up any of these mags in recent years either.
