Occasional .rar problem.

Every now and then when trying to extract files from a .rar archive the Archive Manager in Ubuntu 10 LTS will sometimes fail. It gives me an option to get command line output, which just says: "Cannot open (filename) No such file or directory."

I'm pretty sure this means there was a problem with the upload, but I am not entirely certain and would like to get the files if I can. Is there some terminal window magic that solves this problem? I'm kind of a noob with using the terminal, but I've had good success when given clear guidance in using commands in the terminal.

I have tried "unrar" on these same files and the problem persists. Others on the thread I am talking about have complained. I don't think the trouble is on my end.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Well, unrar always works for me as long as the downloaded files are not corrupt (e.g. after an incomplete download) and I happen to know the password, if any.

Any chance that your filenames have spaces or special characters in them and you did not quote them properly?

one word unrar works fine for me!
