Faster post making
Hello!
Last edited by yoooooop; 6th June 2013 at 17:45.
I want to make my postings faster. I mean, I have a few content, but i'm too lazy too make the posts one by one. For example, I often post comics. What a post needs: preview pictures, file size, number of files/pages, download link. Is there any way to automatize this post creating process, or at least accelerate it a bit? I don't really know how to make scripts, but that could be a solution. Are there any programs that can copy the file or folder size/number of files directly to the clipboard? Than I can paste the stuff to a template txt, or something like that... Any suggestion, or tip? Thanks in advance! |

Let me tell you something one mod told me, making fast posts makes you subject able to mistakes - which can mean infractions.

I always post manually, so the posts would be checked before sending them. I make mistakes even without any hasty actions sometimes. I just want to make things easier and faster, so I could share more, thats all. I don't want to be a "mindless massposting shitty things guy". But these have nothing to do with my question.

Automated posting: that's strictly for cashwhores.
I am not a staffer, but I suggest you take some time out of your busy schedule and browse through this thread.

I can tell you one thing-- if you're using a posting bot, we will find out about it, and we will take action against you.
I use a specific template in a Notepad document for everything I post. I have a very specific post look with everything in place. All of the required information is there, and I just edit it for each content post that I make. I generally post in groups, so furthermore, I'll prepare completed templates in advance. Like, right now I've got over 30 day's templates prepared. I don't post everyday, so I can probably get a month and a half out of that. But let me tell you one thing, using an exact template guarantees that you won't make any mistakes. That is always the way to go. You can tell which posters don't use templates-- they're sloppy, they're inconsistent, and they get banned. If you're worried about time, then just set a day aside for preparing templates if you have a lot of uploads already on a site's servers. That's what I do. I'll organize all of my information so I can just post on the fly later. |

Guys, I think he's talking about a tool that reads out all information about a folder or a file and saves it to a txt file, so that he doesn't have to look up all the information himself.
yoooooop, you need a file list generator. Here a many to choose from: http://anonym.to/?http://softwaresol...e-File-Lister/ Personally, I use FilelistCreator 2. |

I agree with previous opinions, if you want to create a 100% error-free posts, the only effective way is manually. As SaintsDecay said, create templates help and makes the process faster. And fundamentally, organize the material into sections or topics before start.
Also read the link posted alexora, has good tips.

@ yoooooop. I will share my templates here. You may find it useful.
It is a good idea to use templates if you post across multiple boards. Have them all bookmarked in one folder. In Firefox, you can open them all in tabs with one click. Good luck. Video Posts: Insert Title Here Insert Preview Pics here File Format: Res. x, xx MB, Length xx min xx sec Link 1 or Link 2 or Link 3 Picture Posts: Insert model name here - Insert title here - # pics (Resolution) Insert Preview Pics here Download rar/zip - xx MB - Link 1 or Link 2 or Link 3 PS. I couldn't get the [ noparse ] tag to work. Switch Editor modes to get the BBcode if you need it.

Thanks for helping! Great help, no sarcasm! Thanks to everyone who replyed! As I stated I always post manually, not with auto posting bots or softwares. I just wanted to lessen the time with copying the infos and links. It's hard to customize posts to everyones tastes. For example I hate when thumbnails are too small, because I have to click on it to see them in original size, but if they are too big, than I have to scroll too munch. By the way I don't care if somebody makes money with his content, as far as it's nice and clean, well organized etc... I think I try to do things like SaintsDecay: I make a lot of template at once, than I can just copy them and post them when I want. Thanks again! |

No problem. If it helps, here's my template format for picture sets. It's probably the most complex I've ever seen on this site and there is a lot of coding, yet it's easy to edit. Just don't steal it. No one else is using anything like this other than me, and I'll see it from a mile away.
Just play with formatting and colors-- come up with a unique post design that reflects you. Who says content posts have to be boring? Code:
