Randy Spears.
He came to Los Angeles to pursue a Hollywood acting career but slowly started doing porn because he needed money and fortunately or unfortunately became a highly successful porn actor/performer instead. He legit wanted to be a real actor and probably have 'what if' regrets, later in life. |

That's pretty much every job for most. They wonder how they put up with the BS for so long

And I'll admit that it wasn't bad making some money to fuel some silly habits. It was kind of habit forming- from a regular schedule to getting a paycheck every few weeks.

Wouldn't Jane Darling be one of them? Someone mentioned a while back she no longer spoke to any of her old fellow pornstars after she was with an older rich guy a while back?

But lets be real, most of the entertainment industry, both adult and mainstream, is a damaged culture infested with rampant drug abuse. Its really hard to avoid falling into that lifetstyle when its all around you. |

He struggled with drug problem and depression before committing suicide.
He wanted to be a soap opera actor before working in the adult industry. He actually was a good friend of Jon Dough and also struggled with drug problems and depression. Randy Spears is now a religious minister. Both were disillusioned by the industry. Both blamed the Internet for the change in the industry. "When I started in the business, we were still shooting on film, we had good size budgets, we had professional crews, we had good scripts... we really felt like we were making erotic art," Randy said. "Then it really started to change dramatically when the internet came, because now anybody with a little bitty camera in their hand and a couple of lights can make an adult movie. "And I started to notice the stories started to go away, the budget started to come down. It was almost like new director was trying to out-gross the next person."It was like, 'I'll shoot the most outrageous thing, let's bring in little midget people and giant circus women or have 19 men and one little school girl'. "I really started to get a bad taste in my mouth for the business." --- "The director just wanted outrageous, dirty sex and he was mistreating the girls and I was just so turned off by it. "I was so burnt out and I was really fearful to leave. I had done it so long and I didn't know any other way to make real money, but I got done with my scene and I just struggled through it. The US Sun: Adult movie star Randy Spears is now a religious minister who warns couples about 'dangers of porn' Jon Dough didn't really despise his career and doesn't despise his golden years in the industry. Depression seems to be the problem. Trinity Loren, Megan Leigh and Karen Lancaume for example also suffered from depression. Gail Dines also revealed that most of the actors suffered from PTSD because they are “raped regularly on the porn set”. She said: “Just because they’ve signed a contract doesn’t mean they’re consenting to what goes on at the porn set. A lot of them are not prepared for what’s going to happen to them...they’re not prepared for the violence”. - nationalworld[dot]com |

The Gonzo sets of the 2000s like JM productions and Extreme Associates, I can see how they might have half-lied to the women, but you'd be opening yourself up to massive issues - not to mention a bad reputation would mean you wouldn't attract girls in the future because the word would get out about your shady practices. Which is kinda what did happen to Max H / Paul Little in the end. |
