Rent was due. I sure as hell didn't want to move back in with the parents.

And I'll admit that it wasn't bad making some money to fuel some silly habits. It was kind of habit forming- from a regular schedule to getting a paycheck every few weeks.

Pro-Am porn can in theory be fun if done with a partner. Studio porn is just a pain in the ass to shoot.

There are actually a decent amount of performers who stay pretty clean and enjoy the industry. I think the performers who use drugs excessively have alot of personal demons, part of which may have led them to porn to begin with. I do agree there are alot of people who are only in the industry to make money and are absolutely miserable and turn to drugs as a result, but like I said...there are personal demons involved if you are willing to do something you hate THAT much that it makes you turn to drugs.

But lets be real, most of the entertainment industry, both adult and mainstream, is a damaged culture infested with rampant drug abuse. Its really hard to avoid falling into that lifetstyle when its all around you.

That may be the case for outliers like Max Hardcore - to keep the models in the dark about the shit he was going to do to them - but to say that the likes of Wicked and Vivid sets, who made mainstream, inoffensive "couples" porn, were trying to deliberately mislead women is half retarded. Which it sounds like this Dines character actually is.

The Gonzo sets of the 2000s like JM productions and Extreme Associates, I can see how they might have half-lied to the women, but you'd be opening yourself up to massive issues - not to mention a bad reputation would mean you wouldn't attract girls in the future because the word would get out about your shady practices. Which is kinda what did happen to Max H / Paul Little in the end.
