Playing Alan Wake 2.

The atmosphere, the plot, the graphics,...it's like being inside a horror movie. Took a long time to develop it, but Remedy created a masterpiece.

Just go play it (better if you played Control and Alan Wake 1 previously, but you can still play it if you didn't)

Totally agree. I appreciate the investigative aspect of the game and like to canvass the area. That's not possible when Mr. X or Nemesis shows up, so you have to run and return again to finish investigating the area. That's worse than the allegedly painstaking backtracking in Code Veronica. Mr. X isn't even scary or lethal. You have to be exceptionally clumsy to be killed by him. He's just a bully and a time-wasting one.

A trailer for GTA 6 has been announced. I'm already very skeptical as I fear it's going to be a very diluted, woke game. Rockstar Games is the company it once was. It's owned by a holding company run by shysters who only care about the buck. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Currently playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey and loving it. Haven't progressed very far into the story, just been doing side missions and leveling up my character.

If you want to play the dlc read this you cant access it until level 28 tho and i only played atlantis it is visually great and pretty epic but difficult they make you jump through alotta hoops to get there (there is a cross-over event in AC:Valhalla where you meet Kassandra and go on this search for a powerful artifact/mostly puzzles and shit tho) also noticed Cyberpunk w/ expansion is like 250GB to download, thats alot!

Those dlc look interesting. Unfortunately, they are both nearly 25 dollars, so I may have to wait til after Christmas to get them. Maybe I'll ask for a Playstation giftcard or two.

As for my playthrough, I'm currently at level 35 and still haven't spent any ability points. I'm still near the beginning of the game, having just reached Megaris. I was having a lot of trouble with mercenaries and multiple enemies, and was gonna use my ability points at level 25, but then I found a sword called The Sword of Yumminess that gives 250% all damage. The catch is you can't use your abilities. So I saved my points and have been using the sword. Certainly made things easier. I have killed a lot of mercenaries since finding it. I think now I'm about ready to move back onto the main quest.

Thank you! In my older age I've definitely become a 'filthy casual,' I was so hyped for Dead Island 2 because Dead Island and Riptide were buggy beautiful messes while at the same time I didn't feel constantly overwhelmed and could explore and find or make up environmental story telling. Dead Island 2, I just couldn't get into because zombies respawn so fast, behind you, in greater numbers that you're constantly moving and the maps themselves are small and linear.

For a game that was announced a decade ago it's really kind of disappointing.

I should also stop trying to force myself to like games and is probably the reason I burn out on them. Like Starfield ... it has the bones of a good game (exploration, combat, game mechanics) while it lacks meat. POIs are really copy pasted the same and I think that's what happened that even though I had some fun guns I just got burnt out.

I'm still having so much fun in Cyberpunk 2077 it really pulled a No Man's Sky in an awful release to do a full 180! Sure, there's still bugs and I crashed back to Xbox Series X screen once, but I never feel 'lost' or like I don't know what to do and decisions have consequences. There's also so much environmental story telling and I do my own roleplaying with the clothing I adorn my avatar with, guns I use and actions I take.

The gaming convention thing happens today lots of announcements: Already Stoked about Dragonagereadwolf and GTA 6 and all the new gameplay footage dlc announcement etc...Yes I saw the BS about bioware dissolving and Dread not ever being released but that was clickbait...PS store already has it Just Announced so its in stone...here is some pics
