I guess most folks still don't believe she is gone.

I edited her IMDB page to reflect she has passed and it took IMDB 4 days to add the information to the front page of her page.

They even emailed me asking for verification and I sent them the links to the AVN page, WIKI and several news articles about her death including one with Calgary Canada news.

Well, I wouldn't because I don't know who Amanda Friedland is. But I do think it's sad when certain mainstream performers (actors, singers, etc) who's work that I enjoyed pass away. And I feel the same about Shyla because I very much enjoyed a lot of her work. Porn is no different in my mind as a form of entertainment regardless what society in general thinks. And Shyla put a lot of hard work into being one of the best as well as having natural sexiness and a bubbly personality.

I think it's even more sad considering the shockingly young age.

Sad to hear. One of my favs, since I first saw her in those old and amazing photo sets produced by Suz3 R@ndall.

As for the rest, I dont expect people to declare their respect for a porstar, but at least restraint yourself from talking shit when one of them dies. I only talk shit when someone aggravates me, and a pornstar is far away from doing so. Quiet on the contrary, I feel calmly grateful for the porstars that I like.

Kinda of expect that if something nice can be said about a pornstar, it would be in here where I will read about it.

There seems to be some conflicting information as to when she died November 9th or November 10th. Some sources like from W!k!ped!a say she died on the 9th, and so that's where I found this information from (best source for now).

Amanda Friedland (September 23, 1982 – November 9, 2017), better known by her stage name Shyla Stylez, was a Canadian pornographic actress.

Career
After a chronic lower back injury cut short her promising career in Kabbadi, Stylez became interested in entering the pornography industry in her teens, and later moved to Vancouver where she worked as both a stripper and a webcam model, and appeared in nude pictorials. In her off-time, she would contact studios by email and phone to find out how to appear in movies. Stylez credits Erik Everhard with being the person to formally introduce her to the business. She appeared in her first film, Slap Happy by @nabolic Video, in 2000 at the age of 19. She received her first @VN Award nomination as Best New Starlet in 2003.

Stylez was involved in a sex scandal with former Orange County assistant-sheriff George Jaramillo, where she was noted as having had several sexual encounters with him. In 2016, she was caught having sexual encounters with a United States Marine from Texas. In 2005, she temporarily left the adult industry. She returned to pornography in 2006 and was nominated at the 2009 XRC0 Awards for the Best Cumback. Stylez hosted the Los Angeles independent TV show Un-Wired TV in 2007.

The following year she was nominated for more AVN Awards, including Best Supporting Actress, for Best Tease Performance, and for her performances in My Pl@ything: Shyla Stylez and Pirate$ II. In 2010, she was named by M@xim as one of the 12 top female stars in porn Shyla Stylez was inducted into the Halls of Fame of the Urban X @wards and the @VN in 2011 and 2016, respectively.

On November 9, 2017, Stylez’s mother found her unresponsive in her bed. She was pronounced dead shortly after, aged 35.

Please Note there have been no credible reports as to what caused her death, people do die in their sleep, it happens for unknown reasons at times. I'm sure there will be some sort of autopsy to find out more but for now the details surrounding her death are unknown.

On a personal Note: I really liked her and remember her fondly, although I really didn't know very much about her personally, she was a BIG Star in the Adult industry and will be missed by those of us who enjoy the Adult Movies she was in.

I remember I got shocked when I came accross her death notice.
She was at the top of the business those days.
