About Streaming vids
Hi, I think almost everyone on the forum uses something to download streaming videos, so I think someone probably has a solution
I mostly use Downloadhelper or Flashgot, to get streaming vids, but neither seems to work with Flowplayer Streams. I did a search on google, but nothing I tried worked. What you guys use to download such videos?

I've been using a Firefox extension called "Ant Video Downloader" that works pretty well.

Some streams use new encryption or route through more sites and servers than typical tools can grab.
In such cases sometimes the only alternative is a screen recorder (the type software people use to make tutorials for their programs). Rarely the best quality and often requires recording it in chunks if it is more than a few minutes (then combining the chunks in a video editor). To many, this is more work than it's worth. Which is the point of hosting things that way. But if you really want it... I once had to use a program called Audials to make a useful copy of a movie I really wanted and could find nowhere else. Pain in the butt, but it worked!

If Downloadhelper or Flashgot can't get the streaming vids, then they are probably using AdobeHDS or rtmp transport.

For AdobeHDS: download this PHP script (http://github.com/K-S-V/Scripts/blo...r/AdobeHDS.php) to download AdobeHDS streams. Install firefox add-on: http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...link-detector/ so you can easily grab the manifest. For rtmp: download rtmpdump (http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/). Or easier solution for windows users, download rtmpdumphelper (http://nirsoft.net/utils/rtmp_dump_helper.html). |
