It may sound nice for them to get royalties but how exactly do they go about tracking views/downloads? They would have to create some kind of system to track and verify that information, and that means paying more people which would cut into the bottom line. And ultimately they would be at the mercy of the producers and distributors to not fudge the numbers. It is actually pretty common for large Hollywood studios to get caught underpaying royalties and some actor or writer has to file a lawsuit. Of course Hollywood is absolutely full of scumbags but the porn world is just as bad if not worse.

And there is a lot less money to go around in porn. It might be worth it to sue over hundreds of thousands in royalties, but pornstars won't see those kinds of numbers. Would it be worth the legal fees and hassle to sue over a few hundred dollars in unpaid royalties?
