Simple-minor celebrities like her are looking for the 3 or 5 tape deals with Vivid that pay huge money, or at least a one off-they don't want to become proper porn actresses, just play at it while using it to get more publicity for their flagging careers. Well, people who are in to porn know it's James Deen, but the average person who just watches porn occasionally to get off, or the kind of people who watched the show she was originally on wouldn't know, and so the "sex tape" act would still work on those people.

I'd actually say that doing it this way probably works out better for them. They will get sales both from those who believe that it's real and don't know that it's properly produced porn, and from those who know it's proper porn and not some amateur rubbish and buy it because of that.
