I've just spent some time searching for any information on this story and I can't find anything...the initial LA times piece was written on June 11, 2009 and on June 17, 2009 the article was pretty much retracted

There are no Press Releases on the LA County Health site about this...I think people should wait for a reliable source. |

Broxi, your research sounds very reassuring: I hope this whole story was a flash in the pan.

I'm more than a little suspicious when the few websites/blogs that have the piece source an article which has been retracted, none of the adult industry news sites have anything about it, LA County Health have no press release on their site about it, nothing mentioned on the Adult Industry Medical (AIM) Health Care Foundation site ?
I'm not saying the story isn't true but so far it sounds like gossip...pretty malicious gossip too? The one statement AIM did have was this dated Oct 2009: Quote:

I sincerely hope it's a hoax... And none of them are infected!

Naomi has been retired for over a year now, how would they find out she was recently infected? This story has been floating around for a long time, and no one thinks it's true.

You guys act like it would be such a tragedy if these girl caught a venereal disease!
My GOD, they porn stars! Porn stars that don't use protection. What did they think would happen? There are a million others to take they're place. Wear a condom. Sheesh!

As naive as it may sound, but after all pornstars are humans too and they deserve to be respected just like any other. Especially when they have given thousands of fans so much pleausure over the years. And they deserve to stay healthy. Like I said earlier, I agree that they should use condoms, but sadly this doesn't seem to be accepted in the porn community. So what should they do? Stop working? I guess most people here wouldn't be too happy about this. This is exactly the same thing that I have noticed with many of these so-called "porn fans". They happily jerk off to their favorite pornstars for years. But as soon as something bad happens to them, they're also the first to talk trash about them. It's not hard to see that these are probably some women-hating guys who at the same time hate themselves for watching porn. So they love to see the girls suffering, even if a minute ago they just jerked off to them. It's bad enough that there are people in the adult industry who treat the girls like shit. The porn fans don't have to do the same, especially when they are the ones who are watching it. |
