A porn star will receive a lower fee for performing in a movie than she will from escorting: some have said that the main reason for becoming famous in porn, is that you can charge top dollar from clients when escorting, and also get top billing as a feature dancer on the back of your porn carrer.

This is all heresay, but wold love to hear the opinions for any who have a greater insight of this aspect of the industry.

It's going to get real ugly for Derek Hay, the owner of L.A. Direct Models. Perhaps, at least in the state of California, the only way to legally prostitute oneself is by offering a personal "pornographic video service".

All you would need, is for the client to sign a release (that they would keep, and to which they would be the custodian of records) and just have a camcorder in a corner of the room, deliberately set out of fucus so that the participants would not be recognisible.

This way, you would be legally shooting a porno, records would be kept by the client only, and since the video recording would turn out unusable, it would be legally justifiable to not release it to the public.

A porn shoot that failed for "technical reasons", Your Honour...

If you did that, you'd probably be violating the spirit of the law; you'd be just as culpable, and also guilty of conspiracy. Plus I doubt these people are signing model releases. Porn girls want to hang on to their real identities pretty doggedly--they won't just show up somewhere with their driver's license unless they know exactly what's going on.

But it will be fun to watch Derek go down. He's a scumbag.
