Who is selling my email adress ?

Hi guys
I am getting bombarded with "girls" wanting to hook up, fuck me, cheat on their useless husbands etc etc.

I get about 10 of them a day.
It really is becoming a pain.

I know that it is hard to stop, but what tactics do you use to get rid of them?

Personally, I have lots of email addresses.
One for forums
One for xbox live
One for internet shopping
One for personal email

That way if one ever does get flooded with crap, I can just transfer anything that I want to keep using to a new address.

I get a lot of crap in gmail but most of it goes straight to my spam folder.
Still it's somewhat annoying. I can't think of an easy solution except switch to another provider.
But first, I would suggest creating some rules to automatically delete or move these emails to your spam folder.
Hotmail or live mail is a lot better I think. Less spam and looks more professional.

I don't want to switch to another providor as then I would lose my email addy.

Some spam rules would be good. But you still have to look at your spam folder in case there is something you needed in there!

And personally I don't think that hotmail or live mail addresses look professional. If I see an email from someone with those suffixes I often think they have something to hide.

I was talking about the interface.
I am a long time gmail user but it looks cartoonish and is generally cluttered with too many things going on in one page. Hotmail/Outlook mail looks a lot nicer.

I hate those spam that are sent to me and making it look like they came from me.

For example: let's say my email address is [email protected]

I will get an email titled Cheap Canadian Prescription Drugs and in the header of the ONE LINE listing in my INBOX, it will show from [email protected].

But if I put my mouse over the email address part of the one line listing without actually opening the email itself, it actually shows up as another [email protected]

So, you always have to look into your spam folder, just in case. That means you really want filters on your spam folder that automatically deletes the girlie spam. The problem is a filter on SPAM can move/delete the wrong item - if it deletes, any friends who PM matching a filter are gone. So, just use good business practice - check spamfolder daily, empty it daily too. Only takes 5 seconds max (for 50 Spams) .

I have two email addresses: my bona-fide legit one I use for work, friends and family, one for porn (I use it here on PS).

For all other things I use a disposable messaging service: melt mail.

This system means that I hardly ever receive spam emails.
