What is the average background for most porn stars?

Even though some starlets and producers would want us to believe otherwise, I very much doubt that being in porn was a life-long dream for most of them. So how do they all end up in the industry and what background do they tend to come from? The stereotype seems to be that female performers are trailer-trash with daddy issues and/or Europeans from economically disadvantages areas who have little alternatives.

You pretty much mentioned the reality from your last statement. That is where most porn stars come from.

Of course there are some girls that did not have daddy issues or came from a broken home but they are far and few between. A couple are highly educated and thought they could make more money doing porn then they could in a 9-5 job. Of course those days are over with piracy killing the porn industry rates for the girls now.

of course there's always alternatives, but non pay like porn if they have no other significant skills in live. Yes I believe most of them conform to the stereotype, otherwise they're just too young, too lazy, or too stupid and just take the shortcut which is porn. But I don't mind

Honestly while I'm sure porn attracts a lot of really damaged people I don't think we know enough about a lot of them to say for sure what the average background is but we always seem to assume that it cannot be good.

I agree with the eastern european ones, but I saw on TV once (long time, don't remember, german show) that a NASA engineer quit his job and does porn with his wife.
As for others, they don't want to wait on tables to pay college and if I'm not wrong everybody have sex in college more than pornstars, so why not get paid?
