Is everyone Happy with Filehosts Senario?
In what way is the current situation stable? Filehosts still have a target on their back, and a lot of the newer filehosts you're referring to are mere flashes in the pan, and aren't suited for long term use.
Oron is probably the most stable, being they're the owners of fucking everything. A few years ago, they bought out several prominent forums. Some of those forums have restored their former glory, but others are still drones. DF is good in my eyes, but their speeds are still questionable at best for free users. RS is shit, so is Extabit, RapidGator, DepFiles (i-Filez) and so on. We're not in the clear yet, ladies and gentlemen. We're in a completely different era than the FS/MU days, and I think we're in the calm before the storm. The few of us who don't post for profit are in the minority, and those who do post for profit are going to take us all down. Oron may have a monopoly, but I'm willing to bet money on them bringing the filehosting industry down. EDIT: Yup, the bug is kicking in again. For the record, fourplay started this thread. |

Is everyone Happy with Filehosts Senario?
After MU scene and many other big filehosts closed, the filesharing scene looks stable now, many different options available like extabit, oron, DF and newer filehosts!
Is everyone relieved no that, that they can download stuff without any problems?

Looks like the Bug again, never mind. Yeah, I wanted to say, it was never for free users to download as they like, everyone wants to make money, if you can buy premiums, then you can get almost any content!

Stable? It seems like filehosts are on life support. If DF/RS goes down, I believe download traffic will go down considerably. Miss megaupload/filesonic days.

I feel a sense of completion in my porn downloading, as I've accumulated all the titles I could find, and that I wanted. Nowadays, it's a "one file" at a time deal. To describe it, I still download something here and there, music downloading is still abundant, but after completing my intended porn collection, and getting a new hard drive for even more space, I haven't downloaded as much anymore. I scramble more for new stuff out of the companies I've downloaded from, but that's about it.
Now in answering the question posed, I'm not happy. Looking to the future is what makes this answer negative. Back to the new stuff out of companies thing, DF and Oron are the most stable filehosts out there. If one, or both of them fall, uploaders will either not upload stuff, or put them in sites that might be nice now, but with overloaded traffic, will be to shit. It is a calm before the storm thing, as SD said. |

My main disappointment with the new world of filehosts is that so many of the rare chestnuts of videos you used to be able to find are now gone. Maybe someone 3 or 4 yrs ago uploaded a rare tv program or almost unknown movie & you used to be able to find it. Now it just sits there with unaccessable wupload, MU, filesonic or fileserve links and you know they will never be updated. With everyone racing to put new stuff on new hosts to attract the most downloaders, a lot of the old rarities that only interested a few treasure hunters might just disappear.
But you go with what you got & you use the tools that are still available. Theres nothing out there for downloaders that even remotely resembles the likes of MU or classic RS. As an uploader who does it just for sharing & never to make a penny, I just cant find one or two reliable hosts that please a majority of downloaders. Until that time comes, its all in flux for me.
