payment in porn?

i was just wondering about payment in porn...
searched this forum for a related thread, but didnt find any.

now what i am wondering about is mainly the "niche-porn". it demands more from the actress (e.g. bdsm, all of the countless fetish-genres) and so it should be payed better. but then again, it seems to me that the production companies are smaller, the audience is smaller, the "studios" and the production of the whole material looks cheaper (not to say shabbier) in general. also there are less till no big names in niche-porn (or it was in their early careers), so i again think they will pay a new girl less money than a full-on pornstar.


let me give you 2 examples of what i mean:

sites like maxhardcore or facial-abuse put their girls through some really intense scenes. many of these girls are new to porn, or will never be seen again after that scene. the sites may be popular, but they are not the top tier in porn. the material looks poor. todays mobile phone-cameras can make better movies.
watching this movies i find myself wondering how much they pay this girls to let them do such things to them. because in my mind it says: the more demanding the job -> the higher the payment. but it just doesnt look like it. on the contrary.

then there are the big names. of course fetishism and "deviant" stuff has gotten more into the mainstream of porn in the last years or so. every pornstar these days deepthroats and does anal.
but still there are some girls like e.g. london keyes who didnt do anal but shot for big firms, gathered up fame (or sunny lane). you could say she is successful in what she does. even before she started doing more extreme stuff.

this leads me to another question: its obvious that the successful pornstars will get more money for shooting more extreme stuff. like the famous "first anal", "first dp", first interracial". somehow i think its funny that some actresses will probably get a decent amount of money for doing their first anal after so-and-so many years and scenes. while others enter the industry with a gangbang as their first scene. doesnt make any sense to me.


so i would be thankful if someone could show up with some solid numbers, preferably comparing the extreme, cheap-looking stuff to mainstream, hd porn with its starlets.


also one thing that struck me was that i read that the porn industry in america makes more profit these days than hollywood. i can believe that. but i somehow dont believe that kristina rose gets paid nearly as good as cameron diaz. plus hollywood movies these days cost millions to make, the special-effects, exotic locations, equipment, scenery, requisites. now how high can the production costs be to film 2 (or more) people having sex (just note that the sets in most porns are the same and there just seem to be up to 3 cameras)?

if i am wrong about some of this things please correct me. these are just some thoughts.
but i think porn-producers must be sitting on a unholy amount of money the size of mount everest.

Its hard to nail down exact figures. Different girls get different rates based on popularity, different sex acts get different rates, and the price has fallen in recent years with the economy and piracy so those figures still are always fluctuating.

It's been my understanding that FA compensates rather well (think say, 2 grand maybe or more depending if they got some big name rather than some unknown local).
They make their stuff in NYC, and I have heard they pay for out of state travel into there. But many of the girls are probably just found in NYC.

One girl who didn't finish a scene with them just got a couple hundred bucks.

i would also assume that payments have fallen due to the sheer amount of willing new girls around. which is funny; more and more young girls think they can make easy, fast and big money with porn. but the more think like this -> the lower the payments drop. or am i wrong about this?

Payment depend on how popular the actress, the scenes ( straight, Anal, DP, Gangbang Interracial, etc ). As you can see every fantasy have right price

Depends on the woman-the likes of Julia Ann & Lisa An have been around for 20 odd years & have worked for all the big companies like Vivid & Wicked-who probably pay more than the smaller companies. Same with girls like Rebecca Linares who are established for 8 years or so.

The new girls probably get the basic rates until they catch on like Chanel Preston & Jynx Maze & then their prices go up-the ones who don't usually vanish pretty fast.

I cannot imagine any porn studio being richer than any Hollywood studio-no porn film is going to gross hundreds of millions of dollars. Proper films take many months to film, porn films are usually made very fast-so if Charlize Theron is giving up 5 months of her life & is the lead in a film that generated 120 million dollars at the box office, then she will probably get 12-13 million bucks. Gracie Glam showing up for a day & getting fucked in the ass in a film that might make 10 grand profit when it is released, will probably get 600-700 bucks.
