jDownloader, a free downloader's best friend
jDownloader is a automatic download manager specifically made for file hosting sites. It supports an impressive list of around 75 hosts.
some of the best features: - link checker - captcha & link protector recognition - no more ADs because it bypasses website - automatic RAR and HJsplit extraction (supports passwords) - plugins (remote control, RSS,...) - configure multiple RS premium accounts - to go over 2.66GB daily limit - CCF, RSDF and DLC encrypted container formats (like torrents) - open source (program can live longer) closed source RapGet no longer being developed - cross platform; Windows, Mac, Linux It's real easy to use. You can even choose your preferred rapidshare server I've tried it with rapidshare and netload and it works. Just put your links in the waitlist before bed or work, and when you come back they're all done. http://jdownloader.org/ |

The folder being empty would imply the file isn't downloading or the file is corrupt and not extracting. |

if you insist not to work with the Beta then make sure to have always the latest Java version. I work with the Beta on the PC (no issues) and the 0.9.xx version on the laptop (occasionally plugin errors). Great software and it is not a surprise that the hosters hate it. |

So many things that it could be, that I'll just name a few.
Pad may be right that unistalling/re-installing might do the trick. Make sure to check your program folders and delete the old folder before re-installing (I'd even reboot the computer first before install). Have you updated your Java lately..? Antique java doesn't work well with newer versions of JD. What version of JD are you running..? One or two..? The JD 2 Beta is currently available at their forum, though it's been out so long, they really should stop calling it a beta even if it still says this on the download page... Quote:
Code:
http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=37365 Code:
http://jdownloader.org/download/offline though I do occasionally update JD1 and I keep that primarily as a backup. Not to be insulting, but is your computer and older one with lower RAM, and a older CPU..? It could be that as the program is maturing, it's too hard on your specs. Or see if your firewall and/or AV stuff is potentially blocking portions of the program. Last but not least, look around on the forum at the first link I sent. It's nothing but JD stuff and probably someone else has had the same problem, if not start a new thread and i'm sure someone can help you. Search/look around first or staff may give you some grief if you asking about a problem answered multiple times. |

As for my computer, my old one burned in january, so this one is not a problem! i7 4770 + 16GB ram, so even if its taking lots of memory, its still ok because theres a lot of it. but some times I look at task manager and JD is taking almost 2GB ram, and I was wondering if thats normal, thats all!

I'm thinking Pad may be 100% right and you need to uninstall/re-install. You might need to finish off your DLC's and get that fixed as soon as possible. Quote:
and have lots of people downloading my links with almost no complaints but occasionally there's that one guy who didn't pay attention while installing or got his JD from a non-official site (.org is the official one..stay away from .com) and starts screaming trojan or something similar. Some people always want something for free, yet bitch when they people who make it have the audacity to try to make enough money to keep the lights on... |

Clean installers are always a good choice, otherwise say no and deselect all other stuff your JD2 installers ask to install. However JDownloader will always give positive results in many antivirus programs and in Spybot Search&Destroy cause JD2 has an absolutely not invasive advertisement on menu bar. I don't even notice it.

Have you at least read the previous posts? You have to decline the other programs and searchbar the installer proposes you. Choose advanced, not basic instal. Unselect all other stuff they want you to install ! OR use clean installers, as seen above. |

Please, guy it's a tiny advertisement on bar. And Jdownloader is the best download manager out there. You have a movie in a archive you want to download, but it is split in 5 parts and you don't have a premium account for that host. With JD you simply leave the 5 parts downloading through the night, without having to write captcha and the next morning... voilà, you have the file! This because JD order your modem to reconnect after the first download, so you get a new IP, so you don't have to wait hours between downloads, but seconds (40 seconds in my case). Captcha are either automatic or you use a captcha exchange server, like me, so somebody writes the captcha for you during night time. What I'm saying is if you have a dynamic IP and surf the net through a hardware that can be forced to reconnect, Jdownloader is absolutely the best program to use for downloading stuff. Another advice: always have Spybot Search & Destroy and Malwarebytes AntiMalware on you PC. Also installing CCleaner is a good idea. And HiJackThis for analysis (then post results in a computer help site; every country has some reliable helping sites). |
