IOS 7 for IPad
Let me preface this question with an apology if I have postedin the wrong part of this forum.
I just updated my I-Pad to IOS 7. I dont like as my wife can pick it up and see where and what app I have been playing on by simply double clicking the button and then swiping through past screens. Some of those screens would show where I have been on the internet via Safari if I had not already cleared history and cleared cookies. Is there a way to "clear" where I have been on the I-Pad? |

When you're in that screen where you double click on the home button, swipe up on the thumbnail of the apps you've been on and that's how you force close them.

You can also turn on Private Browsing in Safari. Look for the tabs button in the lower right corner of Safari, click that, then click the Private button in the lower left corner.

Yes, what you do is you hook it up to your PC, and in iTunes go to the iPad. Go to the summary tab and click restore iPad. This will go back to factory settings, and the iOS it was originally released with.
If I were you I'd passcode it so no one can pick up and see your history.

If I were you, I would purchase 1Password. It's technically a password manager, but what's cool about it is that you have to type a password to open the app. From there you can browse the web or view p/w protected sites like your bank or PlanetSuzy. When you open a different app and try to switch back to 1Password, you have to enter a password to open 1Password (you can also set it so you only have to type a quick code rather than a lengthy password).
Importantly, there is no preview of whatever webpage you were looking at - it's just a blank screen with a box to enter in your password. Your wife may wonder what that app is, but at least she wont see what you were looking at. I use it for all my accounts and highly recommend it. I own the version for the Mac as well, and it can sync all of your login info. I see now that they make Android and Windows versions as well. |
