Oh, you are worshiping 30 year old scrap metal in a help section. That's confusing. May I ask who needs the help? the scrap metal? Sorry, I don't have such outdated hardware knowledge
or do you need medical help to cure your semi-erotic relationship to scrap? May I suggest to visit a shrink? BTW: don't drink and smoke too much to celebrate this birthday. That's unhealthy |

And is still alive and well: I was celebrating this continuity, and this seemed like the most appropriate area to do so. As for the original 1984 Macintosh, I'd say it held it's value pretty well for a piece of "scrap metal"...

I wish I did, but no. Back in 1985 my GF's dad had one and I learned to use a Mac on his machine.

Yep, still works!
I still have a Macintosh Classic, and YES, it still works. I turn it on about once a month to play old games on it. Anyone out there with a thirty year old PC that still works? I love my iPad, but Apple makes things that last.

I still have my Apple Macintosh from 1984 and my Radio Shack TRS 80 Model I with 64K of Ram (a powerhouse back then, it came with only 16K of Ram) and they both still work.
I can still play Microsoft Flight Simulator on the Macintosh using just the mouse and keyboard. |

I thought so too. The 3TB HD on my iMac's Fusion Drive crashed after 6 Months. Since you cannot repair it yourself, bc its all glued together, i had to bring it to an Apple Repair Partner and wait 4 Business Days.
On the plus side - after restoring from my time Machine Backup (4h for restoring 1,5 TB of Data) i could pick up where i left. Lesson learned: Backup ... backup often! |
