Skip A d f.ly
There is a site I have been using a lot for reference to screenshots. They just started linking all screenshots through A d f.ly which is a complete pain in the bum. I tried using A d f.ly Skipper script with Greasemonkey. Now when I click on an A d f.ly link the FF tab I'm on closes and I don't get to the screenshot, or if I have only one tab open in FF, then FF closes down completely.
Just wondering if any of you guys have found a way to kill A d f.ly without it closing down your browser??? Any help would be much appreciated. TIA |

Try blocking the script with ADP (ad block plus), but first remove the A d f.ly Skipper. With ADP when you click on its logo and then on open blockable items you get a list of frames, scripts, images,... on the bottom of firefox, just find what you don't need and block it with right click. Maybe you could do this on the site NicoleAustin told you about if this wont work on the A d f.ly website

Never experienced this security feature. I know that posting links is not allowed so could someone pm me a link with a site using this security feature. I would love to take a shot at this.
I am a website developer/programmer and this sounds like the kind of challenge I would love to have a shot at. |

Add-on for the no right clicking and much more
Might solve the issue but even if it doesnt its a useful program that runs well apart from the occasionally the pop-up menu that wont go away without a browser re-start.
To access stuff being blocked on a page ie no right click, under sized samples - right click view image Use firefox add-on Anonym zu http://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/righttoclick/ developers page Anonym zu nc.ddns.us/RightToClick/RightToClick.htm |

Ok. I've found a solution with a Greasemonkey userscript called AdsFight!. It works - you get a brief flash of the A d f.ly page and then you are redirected to the target URL.
But then I got to thinking. How much can you trust userscripts like that??? I have zero tech savvy when it comes to things like userscripts. I clicked install without really thinking about it, but presumably all sorts of nasty things could be written in to a userscript. Is there any way to check if a script is OK??? Also the business I mentioned in the initial post about tabs and windows closing down seems to be related to the Killjasmin add-on I have installed. I'm not sure why Killjasmin is shutting down tabs or windows, as A d f.ly hasn't been added to it's list of popup sites. Strange. |
