I've got the shivers just thinking about it. While MMA and Kickboxing have obvious similarities, they're very different. IMO kickboxing is way more brutal and fought at a much higher pace. Silva is in for one brutal night and will probably be knocked clean unconcious. Bearing in mind Silva has suffered 9 TKOs in the last 6 years he should probably be forcibly retired from fight sports of any kind, and not put in a ring with and out and out killer.

Dana White: Jon Jones failed UFC 214 drug test; title not stripped
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed a drug test ahead of his championship win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 last month in Anaheim, California, UFC president Dana White confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday. White denied that the UFC has stripped Jones of the title, as TMZ reported. In a statement released Tuesday, the UFC said Jones' failed test stemmed from an in-competition sample that was collected at his weigh-in July 28, the day before his fight against Cormier. According to TMZ, which was first to report news of the failed test, Jones tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol. White did not comment on the banned substance for which Jones tested positive. "We are all at a complete loss for words right now," Jones' camp said in a prepared statement. "Jon, his trainers, his nutritionists and his entire camp have worked tirelessly and meticulously the past 12 months to avoid this exact situation. We are having the samples tested again to determine the validity or source of contamination. "Jon is crushed by this news and we are doing whatever we can as a team to support him." This is the second failed drug test of Jones' tumultuous career. The UFC was forced to pull Jones from a scheduled headliner against Cormier just days before UFC 200 in July 2016, after he tested positive for anti-estrogenic agents. Jones later told the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that failed test was the result of an unmarked sexual enhancement pill. Jones, 30, served a one-year suspension for the failed test. Before that, the UFC stripped him of his title in 2015 after he was arrested on hit-and-run charges. He is the only UFC champion to ever be stripped of a title because of disciplinary reasons. Cormier, whose only two career losses have come against Jones, said Tuesday night that news of Jones' failed test was "very emotional." "It's hard to find words to describe how I'm feeling right now," Cormier said in a statement. "I'm disappointed to hear the news. It's very emotional. We, as athletes, are entitled to due process, and I will refrain from saying much more until I know exactly what happened. "In my mind, on July 29, I competed and I lost. I thought Jon Jones was the better man that day. I don't know what to think anymore. I can't believe we are going through all of this again. We will see what happens next." If the results of the failed test hold, Jones' win over Cormier will be changed to a no-contest Source: E$PN MMA

What a f%$^@ downer. Seems DC's asshole is made for Jon jones to destroy ( and not on fair octagon way ). DC can not and will not get any peace, it seems....
If it really turns out it was anabolic steroid and in competition sample, that is the worst combo ever... Wow... I really consider him G.O.A.T., but do not know anymore... 2 Much shit surrounding JJ. He can't be so unlucky. 1. Multiple reports he was hiding bellow octagon in Jacksons MMA when USADA came. 2. Failed 200 test 3. Failed 214 test I really hope he gets out with a public warn ( failed test not his fault )... |

Watched the Mayweather/McGregor post fight conference. Interesting to hear McGregor mention (if only in passing) a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz. Now that's a fight I want to see!!! I wonder if he can wrap the UFC around his little finger to set that up before they force him to defend his lightweight title.
I also watched Polaris 5 jiu jitsu event. Reasonably good, and some very nice subs throughout the event. The Masakazu Imanari v Valmyr Neto was a real pleasure to watch. Great to see a legend like Imanari at work. Having said that EBI is still the best grappling tournament when it's in town. |

We will go with Max that sells 200k PPV for 15 mil revenue. With JJ out, CM have UFC's balls in his hand and he knows it. Randy Couture said, that moment CM got boxing licence he fell under protection of "Ali act" and he did not need UFC permission anyways. Even if they sue him UFC would lose, since federal law > UFC contract. Btw, did anyone hear email / DM Schaub got from some power lifter with explanation about Jon Jones failed test? Interesting stuff. ( Big Brown Breakdown - Episode 39 ~ 52nd minute ) |

I believe he got caught cheating...again. Nothing would convince me otherwise. He's a cheater period, like Tom Brady. But because the powers that be in both sports and that they draw a lot of $$$$ to the sport they will do anything to overlook the things that these cheaters do.
JMHO...

This is not Micky Mouse failing test. It is the GOAT. So usually what happen is: they make example of him. Don't forget he brutally KO'd human being, don't forget they are mad as fuck @ him for hiding under Octagon at Jacksons gym. Do not forget that thing they found in him usually means some other shit was there as well ( Chael P. ). So if they drop him on his head for 4 years, I won't be surprised. His manager hope for "public warning" . Sometime in the future if would come out that Jeff N. gave free pass to Jon Jones, he could end up in jail. I doubt someone is willing to risk jail for Jon Jones. |

Having said that the UFC did fuck over their anti doping policies for Brock Lesner. So you never know. But in this case I think it would be almost impossible for the UFC to do anything but bury JJ if the final result is a positive. |
