I worked with this girl that was married and has 3 kids. Her husband (unknown to her) was seeing hookers on the side and got infected and brought it home to her. It was not her fault but she is still gone (as is the foolish husband) and her kids are being raised by their grandmother. We need to have some compassion for those that get the disease thru no fault of their own. |

![]() Given the rate of STI infections in England at least it's clear that young people in general don't use protection enough and it's a miracle that there hasn't been more HIV infections. I don't think it's a sensible idea to tattoo HIV carriers no matter how they got it, assuming that was even a serious suggestion, but given that home testing is now available and instant and same day testing is also available people have no excuse anymore.
The thing with the treatment is that it's so good now that they've lifted the ban on Surgeons, dentists, midwives etc. with HIV working in the NHS if they are on effective anti-retroviral drug therapy & have an undetectable viral load of HIV in their system. We've done really well against Sti's & HIV in particular and we have the tools to almost eliminate it but people are horny, get drunk & don't like condoms. |

![]() Any scene can carry a risk-just because a woman only does G/G on camera doesn't mean anything really-away from the camera she could be taking on a football team in a bareback gangbang, getting unprotected anal from a shemale etc. Good thing for the women that worked with her is it is far less likely to transmit than B/G or gay men having sex.

![]() Slight cost & logistics issue there. Yeah, people who were born with HIV due to their parents actions should be forced to walk around telling everybody. Most people with HIV are very responsible after diagnosis-yes there are some idiots that don't care, but the majority don't want to spread it to others. Also HIV is no longer a killer, with drugs & changes to lifestyle it can be managed like any other chronic illness.

As for the NHS I don't agree with lifting a ban, simple fact is those jobs by their very nature require intimate examinations & carry a risk, doesn't matter if the drugs are effective-the disease is still there & can be transmitted. |

![]() From what I've read an undetectable viral load reduces the likelihood of transmission by 96% percent with someone you're barebacking I'm not sure i can argue against a gloved medical practitioner treating me especially given that they'd treat me even if I had an infectious disease.

![]() Thing is the disease is still there & if they stop taking meds as many do then it becomes detectable again very quickly. I know with wearing gloves the risk is not great-but would rather not take the risk-gloves do rip/tear.

![]() If they stop taking their meds their career is over. They have to have an undetectable viral load and be tested regularly. I get that people don't want to take the 'risk' but unfortunately you have no choice.

![]() How do you think this would work in Africa? They have been trying to immunise against Polio for years there and they won't do it because they think it's a Western conspiracy to stop them breeding.

![]() Ah yes, the tombstone ads, the one where the woman entices him to bed and he wonders if he should and those one with the Rick Ashley lookalike in the disco.... scary when you were just 8 wasn't it? The thing is they played them during the day too.
