I respect the title more than the title holder.
CM punk retains from a draw. Didn't we have a double-pin already? I wanted Cena to win, just so that we would not hear punk with his lame "respect the bullshitter."
I am not a real die-hard Cena fan, but he never has taken off a day and he has never left a match, unlike punk-shit. How are they going to balance Eve as GM-assistant and Divas champion? I do not think she should have ever held a title. But Layla as a champ right after her return from a fake injury? @ Freakzilla, wouldn't that be a "punk vs Cena 3?" I am glad Miz retained. I actually saw no reason that he would lose against any opponent in that match, unless it would have been a "controversial" one, where one of the other opponents pinned another opponent. My only problem with Cesaro is that he always has to find a reason to kiss Aksana.

Thoughts on Night of Champions (preshow included).
1.) What's Booker's status on the investigation of the Brogue Kick? Only thing to say that the Brogue Kick's still banned. Ok, Bookah T! 2.) Ok, wait a minute, Cameron's back? I can't even tell, I don't remember what she looks like, I know Naomi for sure. They didn't refer to the women by name. Ahh whatever. The participants of the battle royal. Brodus Clay, Primo, Epico, Justin Gabriel, Tensai, Tyson Kidd, Michael McGuillicutty, Zack Ryder, Darren Young, Titus O'Neil, Jinder Mahal, JTG, Drew McIntyre (SWEET!), Ted DiBiase (huh?), Heath Slater, and Santino Marella. Slater formed a circle of superstars, did his air guitar thing, and got eliminated by everybody. That's funny. Ted DiBiase, though he came back, was one of the first guys to get eliminated, so maybe he's still not 100% and they just needed a name. Tensai and Kidd had a nice exchange that ended up with Kid getting powerbombed onto a sea of eliminated wrestlers. That was one of Tensai's most impressive things, but you know, that's not saying much. Brodus Clay, the odds on favorite got eliminated! Gah, Tensai actually sold the Cobra, and it hit his chest, not the jugular. Santino's so dumb, he thought a battle royal can end in pinfalls. The last two men were Tensai and Ryder, but Ryder won with a head scissors counter over the top rope. If it wasn't Clay, and if it wasn't Santino, it was Ryder. It's not Santino, so I'm fine with it. The battle royal overall just went by, it was pretty short for a battle royal. Ryder was asked a question by Matthews, and all he said was "Woo woo woo, you know it." Do I? 3.) CM Punk apparently refused to be interviewed. Enter Paul Heyman heading to Punk's locker room. 4.) Cole opens up the main show, with fantastic news about Jerry Lawler: he's going home to Memphis this week. Replacing Lawler for the show, JBL, big pop! 5.) Miz coming out first with a promo, really? He announced the filing of a formal complaint to Booker T, but couldn't finish his talk because Rey's music had to play. JBL's comments on Cody Rhodes were pretty nice, explaining him as an old school guy, which how he said it makes sense. It's funny that Miz and Cody Rhodes were the most over with the fans. As far as who were the best performers, well, it wasn't Sin Cara. There were two pinning combinations that he had to break, and those moments were a bit awkward, as if he was slow on the cue. Rey and Sin Cara had their first one on one exchanges. How was it? Ehhh, needs some work, but a good spot here and there. In fact, the early part of the match was hard to take in a couple times because Cody and Miz working with Cara, wasn't so hot. Things got better during the end, but the finish was odd. Sin Cara basically did what Cody has been doing, in reverse. Obsessed with putting the mask on Cody Rhodes, and it costed him. It ended up on Miz instead, and Cody was about to hit Cross Rhodes on Cara. Miz came from behind, wearing a mask, and hit his finisher for the win. So, Miz won by pure instinct? Yeah, that's what JBL seemed to imply, I'll take that. However, it sounded like he thought Miz won the IC title, rather than retain it. JBL probably doesn't regularly watch WWE. He also said Miz "won" the WWE title at Wrestlemania 27. He retained the title there. 6.) Primetime Players, Millions of Dollars dancing for Eve. Eve was called though, and apparently Kaitlyn's ankle was dinged. Hmm? Kaitlyn's acting was pretty bad. 7.) This is a tag team match not to take seriously, it was going to be just silly fun. The silly fun coming from Kane and Bryan playing to their storyline. The wrestling was decent, but the crowd response, chants of "hug it out," heat for Air Jimmy, it was tremendous. Kane even benefits, because he's right there with Bryan in getting cheered. They had a spot of tag team cohesion, one small spot, but most of it were differences and accidental team work. The accidental team work led to Kane actually splashing Kofi, which JBL was right in that it was Kane's first ever splash. Awesome, a change was necessary, Air Jimmy had beaten all the teams in non title and title matches, including PTP multiple times. Furthermore, as said on commentary, they've been tag team champions for 5 months. Though they took a break with Truth's broken foot. Kane and Bryan aren't a long term team, and they could put over either their next big face team, or heel. Plus, I want to see Bryan and Rey Mysterio tie it up, assuming Team Friendship faces Rey and Sin Cara in the future. Anyways, not "wrestling," but "entertainment." Good entertainment. 8.) Eve backstage with Booker and Teddy Long, and Booker suggested Eve challenge Layla. Of course. 9.) In 5 languages: Ungerecht! JBL was so high on Cesaro, it was nice. I am as well, great work by him. Ryder tried some different moves than I am accustomed to seeing, such as a discus clothesline, and doing a top rope frankensteiner. Also, a neckbreaker counter to Cesaro's vertical suplex. Aksana did a bit of an interference, but nothing too big, Cesaro retains, decent match. The Saturday morning block that hosts Saturday Morning Slam has Dragon Ball Z?! Damn. 10.) Ricardo Rodriguez is apparently fine after the Brogue Kick, so the neck injury was purposeful overselling. That's funny. Otunga has Harvard colleagues in the crowd? Where? 11.) JBL had a great line, something about calling the sheriff because Ziggler and Randall were stealing the show. So far that was the best match of the show. The fans were very invested in Ziggler, and there were a couple memorable moments. A long brawling exchange between Randall and Ziggler that showed Ziggler can throw a punch or two. The "boo/yay" thing, just stretched out for a while, and it kept interest. Another key moment was Randall's DDT, but not from the middle rope, but from the top of the barricade. Then the finish, Ziggler being lifted up in the air, and meeting an RKO. The camera could've caught that better, but I got the idea, and it was an awesome finish. All that, strong mat wrestling from Ziggler, Randall getting his moves in at the right time, a lot of team, textbook wrestling match. It was here that Michael Cole came off more as a face, as he and JBL argued more, with JBL being referred to as a politician. It was funny though, overall they reached back to the commentary goodness during SmackDown 2006-2007. 12.) The wrestling in the Divas match was solid. There no botching, Eve did more ground work that made JBL happy. Although fans didn't care too much. Eve shook Layla's hand in the middle of the match, then kicked her in the gut, and commentary would argue about that for a bit. It just showed they were paying attention to the action, they had to. There was even a Von Erich reference from JBL, where Cole said "Texas Tornado" meaning Kerry Von Erich. JBL meant Kevin, that's funny. Anyways, good wrestling, no volume though, if that makes sense. Eve won, not really surprising. Rock and Cena's DVD set is 3 discs long?! 13.) Daniel Bryan is the tag team champions! Whoa, AJ was wearing a skut. Dr. Shelby! Kane was saying he's the tag team champions. Shelby and AJ had to shut the bickering up. Daniel Bryan said congratulations, Kane left, came back with Gatorade, and wanted to go to Disneyland! That was funny. 14.) Ah! JBL calling an Alberto Del Rio match. That's interesting. Sheamus got a Twitter now? Aw man. Booker T came out, concluding his investigation, and basically Booker said being a wrestler, you take the risks and stuff. Yeah, no shit, a wrestler in Del Rio can take it, a howdy-doody can't. So the Brogue Kick was reinstated. Why not reinstate it AFTER this match? Now it wass essentially the same stipulation as the previous two PPV matches. There were some "we want Ziggler" chants. Despite that, the wrestling was really good. There weren't nearfalls, but near submissions on Del Rio's part. His warm was worked on a lot, involving his arm caught between the top and middle ropes. The Spanish announce table even had a bit of contact with Sheamus' midsection hitting it (you could see the effects that left). The finish was a bit too plain, just Del Rio missed his corner enzuigiri, and then turns around to a Brogue Kick. Sheamus tried for his cloverleaf once, and if that finished the match, that would've been much better. Regardless, great match, but please let it be the end. What else can they do? 15.) After the hype video, Paul Heyman's in the ring! Heyman mentioned Punk on his 302nd day as WWE Champion. Damn! Two more months to a year. HA! Look at Punk's tights, NY Yankees design. He called John Cena the New York Yankees last year, and well hehehe. Cena did a suicide dive! That's funny. There was a lot other moves both men tried that they aren't used to doing. Punk did a moonsault (which was not good), Cena did his fisherman suplex off of the barricade, Punk did a Rock Bottom. For about 20 minutes or so, there were extremely strong nearfalls, counters to moves showing how well both guys know each other. A crowd that ended up on their feet by the end of it. If Ziggler and Randall was textbook wrestling, this was textbook wrestling +. Everything came together, both guys kicking out of each others finishers twice, fans chanting "this is awesome." The finish though was strangely executed. It was the fact that Cena doesn't do German suplexes, especially from the middle rope with Punk on the top. Similar to Punk trying a moonsault. Both guys' shoulders were on the mat, it's a draw, a rematch has to happen at Hell in a Cell. Aside from Cena trying a move he's never done before, the purpose was to get heat on CM Punk. With that came an awesome match however, but the ending is not this time, it's later in October. A two match show, Ziggler/Randall, and the WWE title main event. However, all the other matches were good or great (Divas match obviously the weakest). The order of the card was perfect, where the world title match got to its' highest position on a PPV card in all of 2012, and the WWE title finally closes the damn show. It's a novelty now, even though it shouldn't be. Regardless, quality B-show. When Cena had to get out of the Muta Lock, his ankle twisted in an odd direction, and that seemed to result in him having a swollen ankle. |

What I find to be hilarious is that Punk wore Yankee colors in Boston and still got cheered like a boss. With the way things are, I bet he could wear Manchester United colors in Leeds and get cheered.

If I was Cesaro, I'd find as much time as possible to Kiss Aksana. Not like jobber a or b will do anything to stop it. |

WWE.com has confirmed that Jerry "The King" Lawler has been released from the hospital. He will be heading home to Memphis for the foreseeable future, and will be tended to in the comfort of his own home.
Last week, Lawler suffered a heart attack while announcing on Monday Night Raw. He was rushed to the hospital after having nearly 20 minutes of CPR performed on him. There is no timetable for his return to the WWE. JBL will be announcing tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw. There has not been plans to keep him around as a replacement to Lawler. Layfield has talked about heading to Africa on Friday to continue his quest on climbing mountains.

I just do not think he "needs" a reason to kiss Aksana. It was a sarcastic remark of his looking for an excuse to kiss her. If Layla's injury was real, I do not think she would have been actually jumping with no concern.

Do I need to get her medical records to prove her injury was real ? Remember she was out 9 or 10 months.

Since coming back, she's sported a brace on that knee. The jumping around is just proof positive that she worked very hard to not only come back, but improve. |
