Hell - "Human Remains" (NWOBHM/Power Metal)

A band with a story. Formed in the 80s, being part of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, they never got out of the demo stage. They were signed to Belgian label Mausoleum, but the label collapsed two weeks before they could record an actual LP. Guitarist and original member Kev Bower quit the band soon after. He was replaced by someone named Sean Kelly, but the whole band split up shortly after. All this shit luck and trouble, allegedly, led to the suicide of vocalist/guitarist Dave G. Halliday (by Carbon Monoxide poisoning).

Dave G. Halliday taught Sabbat (UK Thrash band) guitarist and well known metal producer, Andy Sneap, how to play guitar. Sneap cites Hell as a main influence in his work, and it seems so when Sabbat's brand of music had a theatric side to it.

In 2008, Andy's fanboy dream came true. He was able to reunite Hell, with him trying to nail Halliday's guitar style. Who would try for the vocals? Sabbat and ex-Skyclad (UK Folk metal pioneers) vocalist, Martin Walkyier. Walkyier left soon after, and in 2010, Kev Bower suggested his brother. David Bower, who is in fact, a stage and TV actor. Original members, Sneap on guitar and producing the album, and an over the top, animated but awesome vocal delivery, this album came in 2011. If it was released in the 80s, it would be thought of as well ahead of its time.

It's a nice story to share.
