I agree that selling is probably Ziggler's biggest strength. He almost oversells sometimes. A dream match would be Ziggler v Henning...if only it was a possibiility.

I see what you mean. Yoshi Tatsu, with the added Japanese heritage, would've made a better opponent. John Morrison's weakness was mic skills, and hopefully he fine tunes that while being away. He seems intent on trying to have comedy skills. That should help. He was funniest with Miz, where he had a very sarcastic tone to him. Is he done with Melina? He should be. That woman seems to be his albatross, especially later in his career, he cared more about her than work, to a damaging degree. |

I like Morrison's in ring work and I completely agree about his mic work. He is fuckin horrible at cutting promos. Makes him not seem like a threat. Example, when he was feuding with Miz for the two weeks he was for the WWE Championship...it made you wonder why he was even getting a shot whenever he opened his mouth...hahahaha

If/when Ziggler gets (rightfully) promoted to the main event, he'll hopefully tone down the bumping a bit. Sometimes I think he does too good of a job making other guys look good, which makes his offense look weaker in comparison.
And for his departure from Vickie (which I'm not necessarily in favor of), I think he'd work well with either Kaitlyn (who he had chemistry with on NXT that season) or Raquel Diaz, who does a decent heel shtick and is also Vickie (and Eddie's) daughter, which would be a cool dynamic, IMHO. IRT muscular dudes: I liked a lot in the 80s, like the Road Warriors, Nikita Koloff, Krusher Kruschev, etc ... but for the most part, I agree that the overly-roided muscular dudes tend to suck. The Von Erichs vs the Freebirds was magic everytime they feuded. The same goes for the Road warriors vs the Russians or the Four Horsemen- absolutely fantastic matches all around.

I'm going to stop this at day 20, anybody else can carry on if they want. Reason I'm stopping at 20 is because a lot of the remaining questions are too similar to previous questions, and other questions are crap. I don't even want to know the answers.

Day 19 - what is the best match you have ever watched? (any company ) Quote:
and agreed 100% about the dirt sheet. Morrison is very effective as a cocky, sarcastic SOB. I'm straight, but the man is a stud. Should change his name to Ravishing Rick Morrison and have him taunt all the ugly fatties in the crowd. I guarantee he would get over. |

As for the question, the best match I ever watched? Different company, different tastes and styles. I'll just list the companies I've seen at least some of, and my favorites from them. NWA/WCW: Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat III. The third one, I think Terry Funk jumped him after the match, and it led to a classic I Quit match. The third match just felt more emotional and energy charged. TNA: Daniels vs. Styles vs. Samoa Joe. I answered that here already. ROH: Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness III, from Unified, August 2006. Oh my goodness, the image of Nigel rising from the ashes, crimson mask, screaming, was fantastic. But my favorite match of all time is from WWE. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25. From the entrances to the finish, it felt like a huge war, with a lot of religious undertones of Heaven vs. Hell. Telling that story in 30 minutes, in front of 70,000 fans, is just phenomenal. In all honesty, they didn't do a lot as far as wrestling moves. They made the saying "less is more" so true. It should be seen as an educational piece on how to get fans emotionally invested into a match. Two legends who've done so much and ended up getting respect from a majority of fans, and still at their peak, wrestling a classic. This was the closest that Undertaker's Streak came to ending. Including even a possible countout loss, which I certainly thought would happen. Also, commentary was fantastic. Lawler was fine, Cole was actually tolerable, and JR was amazing. He expressed feeling honored and privileged to watch and call that match. This should've closed the show. Wrestlemania 25 suffered gravely as a result, especially Randall and HHH. |

WCW... Rey Mysterio Jr vs Eddie Guerrero at Halloween Havoc 1997. That is my undisputed number one.
ROH... I don't watch it. WWE... I'm not sure . One day I could say Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 21, others it could be Bret Hart vs Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 13, just for what it meant for the future of the business. Others it could be The Hardyz vs Edge and Christian at No Mercy 1999. |
