This was a trifecta for me here. I loved New Wave Hookers. Back in the day that movie was pretty high quality on a lot of fronts.

Zazel was for me one of those movies my GF and I could watch together. She had some bi-tendencies and loved seeing the lesbian scenes in this flick.

And Casino- No Limit was just a hot movie to jack to on a quiet weekday back then. Nice looking ladies and even the semblance of a (gasp) plot.

Not to troll or anything. It's just that I'd like to know the curtural importance or innovation behind each movie. For example, Debbie Does Dallas sounds like a generic 70's porn to me.

Sometimes is rather dificult to explain, and I understand your point.

Debbie Does Dallas could be a generic 70's porn as you said, but in fact it was the most succesful video release of a porn film in its time. In addition, Debbie Does Dallas belong to the so called Golden Age of Porn, a period in which porn cinema industry was born. In fact, it's one of the majors of that Golden Age, as it's proven by the several sequels and remakes done after Debbie Does Dallas.

The main purpose of this thread is to compare porn movies with "ordinary" cinema. Suppose I ask you to recommend the 10 films I should have already seen. You'd probably say: The Godfather, Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, What a Wonderful Life, The Appartment, The Great Dictator, The Searchers, etc. We all agree they're a must!

So this is the same exercise, but with porn films. It's a bit harder because after four decades, porn cinema is still too marginal.

Apologies if reviving this thread is a no-no but I've just run across a Marie Claire article online titled 63 Best Porn Movies of All Time which also includes a lot of Classic films and an explanation of why they're important. Seemed a very good supplement to the great suggestions here. Anyone know or could recommend other 'best ofs' or perhaps reviews to get me further along? Have already started plundering the V&C section (huge thanks posters).
