I walked 3.6 miles yesterday.

Joined a pilates gym (doctor's orders).
The physical labour I don't mind...but being a severly anxious person, I had to overcome a huge sense of terror and shame. I know it sounds ridiculous, to a non-anxious person...

Well, this is embarrassing. I just finished three out of six of the projects I made for the 14th. Damn, halfway down and ten days behind.

Reason: clarity
In the meantime, I cut the front yard with the weedeater only. Unfortunately, I used the weedeater a friend gave me after he ran over it with his car and it is very difficult to get a level cut with it. I just ran the weedeater to keep the HOA off me. Sunday I cut the back yard and the front yard with the mower, probably the last time I'll have to cut this season. In addition to the list, I did build an additional shelf in the garage. That was mostly a project of opportunity as the materials came from a shipping crate destined for the trash at work. And while that is an accomplishment, it needs a little tweaking. I might finish that one afternoon this week, or wait till the weekend. |

I've been taking enormous steps to improve my hygiene and eliminate a bad anxiety habit.
I also recently survived a visit with family without getting a migraine.

As usual, I've been keeping up with the little stuff that pops up, but still not making headway on the big items that need attention here.
The "tweaking" I mentioned in my last post here (four posts up), I knocked out two days later. Fixed another toilet, just the flapper this time, not the whole works. Made a small adjustment to a dresser drawer, this time my dresser and not completely broken like the other one. Repaired a shirt. Just a bunch of five minute stuff. |

However! This may be the most important accomplishment I've ever posted here.
Remember that list I made for the 14th that I was only halfway through ten days later? Some of the entries on my list look like this: SP-B-L What is this, some kind of super secret military missile code? Anyway, one of the items was very clearly, "clean inside of toaster oven." Soup, or sauce, or something splashed over the top of the bowl, burned on the bottom of the toaster. Another five minute fix, right? Then again, I can't do it at lunch when I warm my sandwiches or leftovers on my short lunch break. The toaster will not be cool enough before I leave. When I get home, I got bigger things to do. I gotta catch up on my sale site and PlanetSuzy. So, one afternoon after work, since I wrote it down I was actually going to knock it off the list. I opened the toaster oven; it was clean. I even did the sitcom thing, where I closed it real fast and opened it again expecting to see something different. Then I had to ponder, did I do this while really drunk and don't remember? Or did somebody else do it? Wife did it! She saw it on the list and said, "yeah, just a five minute thing; you do so much around here anyway." From now on my lists will not be on the inside of my room door. They will be next to the stove. And they will no longer be in code! They will say explicitly, "clean out refrigerator," and we will see if lightning strikes twice. |
