Looks like The Rock getting that swagger back this round goes to him.

My favorite theme music and under-appreciated star are the same- Christian. I love the entrance from when he was Captain Charisma, coming out to operatic voices with the pyro- it was so over the top ludicrous but it worked so, so well for him and he's such a good worker- I remember a tlc match between E&C, the Hardys and the Dudleys where it looked like Christian took 4-5 nut shots and just kept on trucking. He's always entertaining, works his angles, puts other's over, just a great wrestler overall. Plus, he's responsible, at least indirectly, for the most annoying chant in the history of the WWE- he's the one Austin was on the phone with when the "what" chant/ idea came about... =P

rap/rock off
OK...I think everyone is gunna have their own opinion depending on what team they root for concerning the rap/rock off...but I already see two votes for the rock....really!!! I squirmed through it....we will rock you....had he ever heard the song...it didn't seem like it and then to go to Cena...I thought his lines were more hard hitting and tore apart the crock......give this one to CENA.

Is it me or did the Karaoke part seem out of place?

1.) Even going back in time, Cena is still booed. O.O. Did Cena say the "s" word? Ooowee! That was awesome. I don't like rap, but with Cena I'll make an exception. The doctor brushed up his diploma. Rock has to follow that? Cena's raps can be in spoken form, and they'd still be great. Cena's surprisingly been on a hotter streak than Rock, which is very good to see. Rock had breast surgery?
2.) I agree with Vickie, Daylight Savings Time sucks so hard. She alluded that to Ziggler, but I thought it would be to her. Hehe. Either works. Smart of them to interview Bryan while Ziggler had a rest hold on Sheamus. Quiet part of the match. "The feeling is mutual?" Interesting. What also was interesting was Ziggler going under the ring, ending up behind Sheamus. It seemed clear that they tried to have a great match. Sheamus took a nasty bump on the announce table. Being close to Wrestlemania, that's pretty dangerous. There was a welt on his lower back. Great opening match. RAW isn't blessed with those, and it's the same guys who had a good opening match on SD. Hmm. Plus this is a breath of fresh air after the two chaotic opening matches on RAW the past 2 weeks. 3.) Santino is the captain of Team Long? Johnny Ace is going to win. Otunga the lawyer is the team captain? Yeah, Teddy Long is losing. Laurinaitis suddenly made the mixed tag match into a handicap match. Henry joins in. Teddy Long them came in to get Aksana, like that matters. Long pushed Ace on his butt. Mark Henry got a blind tag and squashed Santino in seconds. Not surprised. Kofi Kingston came to the save, but was taken out. R-Truth then came, then got squashed. Get Christian back ASAP! 4.) Miz has a fight scene in Psych? There's a joke in there somewhere. Ugh, Michael Cole couldn't help but say "attitudinal" everytime they discussed Cena's rap. Alicia Fox gets ready by getting some cool clothes? Please. Ehh, short clip, no biggie. 5.) Friends with benefits? Thank goodness Beth Phoenix came and saved the segment, dressed very classy. Beautiful. It is sad though that Beth is doing that, instead of dominating, as she was designed to do. Reviving the Maria Menuonoz pseudo-rivalry? I think Kharma's personal loss has affected plans for Beth. It's even worse that Eve is now the biggest female heel, coming across more heelish than Beth. Dammit. 6.) Miz and his buddy James Roday talked to Johnny Ace about being on Team Laurinaitis. Miz is set to wrestle CM Punk? 7.) Clay is back squashing. He did a splash, different. 8.) That's Machine Gun Kelly? Change your name, PLEASE! Wash out all that crap on his body. Oh wait, those are tattoos. I'm joking. 9.) Eeeeh, Undertaker said April 21st, not April 1st. Oops. Undertaker talked about destiny and that he's willing to accept whatever "pure" outcome is to happen. Shawn battled back with saying "irony," and he lit up saying he could end 'Taker's Streak as referee. I thought that was the best part, as if some light bulbs were going off as he talked. Undertaker was fine, but Shawn really stole it. HHH came on stage, looking at Shawn? Conspiracy? He smirked, then gave a little crotch chop. R-Truth needs to get on this. Drop Lil' Jimmy for a bit. Shawn better call it down the middle, teasing not doing that is fine. Just as long as it doesn't actually happen. I hear the best refs are total ghosts, that the wrestlers don't realize there even is one. Shawn, I'd prefer, to be that guy. 10.) Roday did a good job in ring announcing. Decent match. Felt much faster than I expected. Even Punk entered the ring in a rush. His springboard clothesline was a little undershot, or Miz was too far. Oh my God, Jericho revealed something CM Punk actually mentioned in a very heated promo in ROH, some time in 2003. He himself revealed about his dad being an alcoholic. Jericho referred to his tattoos as solace, rather than consuming booze. Jericho can drop a pipepomb himself. Now the rivalry got deeper. Punk's been made more vulnerable. I heard an ROH chant by some guy. 11.) Tweet Otunga if you need a lawyer? I doubt he'd really work for a bunch of strangers. 12.) Orton and Swagger was longer than I thought. Orton got his finishing sequence with no fail, but Swagger worked on the ankle a bit. So it was more balanced than a squash one would expect. That was nice. Kane's pyro went off. That's it, hmm. 13.) A little more mixed, some more anti-Rock signs. A little. Rock is the guy to anounce that the Cleveland turnout was the biggest in WWE history's in the city. Usually Cena says those big announcements, or the ring announcer. Rock called Cena Marky Mark. Christian said it first >.>. Vanilla Ice is working on Rock's house, don't diss him. Cheap pop city, vintage Rock. Cena goes for rectal exams? Hmm. Oh no, I know it was meant for fun, but bringing up that Cena is married, and cheated on his wife is a bit too much. Lawler and Cole were laughing more to this. It was funny until the wife part. I really got off track on that. At least Rock targeted some grown male Cena fans. I'm a Cena fan, and he got everything right about me, except I don't watch Star Trek, and I'm not 42. I knew it, Rock went to Cena's mom. I didn't laugh out loud. I guess I took it too seriously. Oh my God, more Cleveland sucking up. Rock wasn't as on point in reading lyrics off the tron. Strange. I'm honest. I lost excitement towards the end. The wife part did it, and went downhill. Cena had a 2 minute rap, Rock did 2 songs in 12 minutes, almost going 20 minutes on the final segment, so, add a couple minutes with him just talking. Last week wasn't so clear, but the previous two weeks and this one is. Cena owned Rock. Not only was he funny, but he made it last with fire. Rock didn't. Again, I probably took the wife comment and mother one, too seriously. Still, blatant sucking up to Cleveland, probably the most cheap pop tactic Rock has ever done. Hmmm. |

I'll be honest, I turned the concert over before the end. It was late last night. I botched. I'm not changing my mind just because of posts above. saying Cleveland Steamer would have won it on it's own.

Reason: The Rock did electrify .
*edit* I had no idea what Cleveland Steamer meant, until I watched Prison Break. This guy steals a lot of money and he is staying in a hotel, he has a few hookers in the bedroom with him, 2 girls refuse to do what he asks ''A Cleveland what?? no way!'', the other girl just says fuck it and accepts. After that I had to google Cleveland Steamer. This was mark out shit for me. I can see how people preferred The Rock concert, there is still nobody else like the Rock when it comes to entertaining, he still has that magic aura about him,no matter what he says or does, last night was his best performance in this whole feud vs Cena. The business with Jericho calling out on the titantron that Punk is straight edge because his daddy was a drunk was just distasteful. I'm afraid thats the angle they are gonna go with to draw heat for their match. To me it just smacks of desperation.

The last few weeks Cena crushed the Rock on promos. This week Rock needed a win and he got one. The Rock is an awful singer but the lyrics were still funny as hell. |

I loved the return of old school thug Cena, but it's not really clear if it was just for the rap battle or if it's permanent. At first, I thought it was just for the battle, but Cena has been using thug-speak quite often for the past couple of weeks, so I wouldn't be surprised if he started using his old theme full time. Haha, I love the recurring turn to the camera on the tron. It's fucking hilarious.
I am so god damn sick of Otunga and his steroids and his coffee. The whole lawyer schtick is just annoying. The Miz and the "Psych" guy...fuck, that made me cringe. I've never watched "Psych", but the whole clip of that little twirp and Miz going back and forth was like nails on a chalkboard. I've always said that Miz is intolerable, and I absolutely hate guest hosts. They always come off so degraded and weak. I just can't stand any guest host-- not even Pee-Wee Herman. You know, Beth Phoenix wouldn't look so bad in a black t-shirt and some jeans, but she just doesn't look right in these dressy outfits-- especially that fluffy yellow thing with lipstick. Ugh, I can't stand dresses and/or lipstick. She's kind of cute, but she's selling it the wrong way. Strapless dresses make her look huge. I'm sick to death of MichaelsMania already. Taker was right-- it's not about Shawn's ego. It has nothing to do with him, and yet they're shoving him right up our asses as usual. It's just insulting. And really, there is no need for him whatsoever. I just don't see the point. It's Hell In The Cell-- a ref really isn't even needed until the final count because nothing in off-limits. Shawn is definitely going to interfere, and the DX chop at the end engraves that fact. This is DX against Taker, and I just want to skullfuck something to get that out of my brain. I'm fine with Hunter, but I hate Michaels with a fiery passion. I'm liking the new Taker. He's not silent as usual, and he's actually pretty fast on the mic, yet the fact that he speaks isn't downplaying his dark persona. The hood is also pretty cool, but I don't know how much longer they're going to have him wear it. He can pull it off until Mania in all probability, but let's face it, both the casual fans and the smarks know that he's shaving. They're probably going to have him do some sort of symbolic revelation during his entrance, but I think it should be done sooner because it may distract from the match if we're not used to it. Rocky's concert was funny at times. Light humor, sure, but it works. And then, boom boom clap-- fucking son of a bitch played Queen. I never could stand Queen within an inch of my life. Ugh. And you know they're going to play more Queen next week and the week after that in a refresh clip. The insanity has to stop. Overall, it was an eventful Raw, but there were quite a few problems. Seeing as I grew up with an alcoholic father, it just hit me all wrong. I don't blame Jericho or Punk for pushing it-- I blame the writers for bringing it in this direction. This sort of thing just shouldn't be done. I think they had enough reason for their match before this. |

If CM Punk suggested that, it wouldn't be surprising. He lifted Cult of Personality from his ROH world title reign in Summer 2005, which the whole Summer, he pretty much used as a template for his Summer last year. He threatened to leave ROH with their title, threatened to leave WWE with their title. His promos were closer to "shoot" territory, and more heated. His straight edge heel gimmick was basically a more animated version of his early heel days in ROH, where he revealed the stuff about his alcoholic father, and how he saw Raven as his dad. It was basically an attempt to make a heated feud, in the Independent Scene. Today, making a feud at risk at being overshadowed, more interesting. This what Chris Jericho took... |
