To be fair, if there's no captcha at all, then I rather think that's a dead giveaway that you're still being treated as the paid-up premium user you are, even if you think you're trying to be a 'standard user' for testing purposes. You must have a cookie embedded somewhere telling K2S who you are.

W8 actually moved on from the Vista architechture and tried to turn it all into a phone OS which was why it was such a lash up. I installed it once and removed it within an hour. It was unusable.

I'm aware of Winborg. But you are succesfully illustrating one of my original points. People like the tools they are used to and as long as those tools are working they'll keep using them. It's not a file host's job to force people to upgrade the the very latest tech to access a service. It's their job to make those files they host accessible to the widest possible client base. By anyone's yardstick K2S/FB/Tez are failing spectacularly on that score.

Zippyshare was great when it first launched. It still is if you happen to be in a country that hasn't blocked it. It is blocked in many countries across Europe however. In UK it's a different story. Zippyshare itself has locked out the UK. No one knows why. I read an article on torrentfreak that suggested there was a BTS legal wrangle and they took a step to head off any possible problems but the real reason for the UK blockade has never been revealed. I used it a lot when it first started operating. Now I don't because the only way to get to it is through a VPN and it gets glitchy. If you can use it then I'm properly jealous. It's an excellent free host for those with access.
The closest alternative is clicknupload. Very few people post to it but it's a hidden gem.

If K2s/FB/Tez are stopping free users from accessing content then they become a premium subscription only site and that makes them disallowed by this forum. When this forum takes a site off its regiister all the links are auto-disabled and the text is replace with *********. So all those posts become dead.

There's another pssibility too that no one has considered out loud yet. They may be breaking under their own weight and in financial trouble and this is their way of trying to resolve it by forcing people to subscribe. Rapidshare tried that and it all went horribly wrong. If that's what they are doing they'll either massively scale down or be dead by Christmas. There's a global financial crisis on the way. People aren't going to pay for a file host when they can't afford heat and light.

Assuming they aren't about to go bust then the best way to resolve this issue is for the forum bosses to tell the company that runs these three hosts that if they maintain their compatibility issues and DL throttling they will be removed as a host to pressure them into restoring the service. It's OK if they do what the other hosts do and put a few hours wait time between DLs. That's a fair exchange. What they are doing now is shit. I don't know about you but it makes me less likely to subscribe to them than more.. They're bullies. I don't reward bullies with money. I say we smack them in the mouth. Without users they have no business. We have the power. The way forward is a proper compromise.

Nope. I am premium since I was promoted Moderator, end 2021. Prior to this date, I hadn't any captcha, just wait time was 15 or 30 seconds (depending on rush hours) but I got almost always 200 KB/s, sometimes slower but always at least 150 KB/s, with some referrers (psuzy is not the only one giving 200 KB/s).

Regarding cookies, they are not the same because I use Firefox (latest version) for d/l with my premium account and I use Maxthon (Chrome based browser) as my usual browser for years now), with which I have tested the speed yesterday but the behaviour of k2s is the same in Maxthon now and before I had a premium, without any login on k2s.

A click on a link from a post here in planetsuzy but other forums give the same speed. I can give you the name from one of them if you want, send PM if you are interested.

Another way if you want to have the 200 KB/s : just add ?site=planetsuzy.org at the end of your k2S or fboom link. No space, of course

K2S is working again as free download. Tested and working in latest Chrome browser version. Getting 50kB/s only, but at least it's working

It never stopped working for me on the latest browsers. It's just strangled to all hell which makes it useless. If it takes 4 hours to DL a 300mb file and most posted here are 1GB or more what's the point? I'm not going to waste 18 hours trying to DL a single file from a blackmailing host. Fuck em.

And forget it if you aren't using the latest browsers. The access will just stall on three dots or the wheel of doom.

As far as the mod with no problems is concerned. You're getting through because they log your IP. That's why I said flush your cache, switch your IP address and try it. The IP loging thing is why free users can't DL a file using one browser then immediately try to get another using a different browser. Your IP is logged as a premium user whatever browser you're using. You're just not signed in on your spare which is why you're not getting premium speed.

But. and I can't believe I have to write this again. Just because one person is getting lucky doesn't mean the rest of the great unwashed aren't getting royally buttfucked by a company trying to force upgrades and subscriptions.

It's the same company with the same coding file structure and servers for all three hosts. That's why they're interchangeable.

Tried and failed on latest Chrome Opera and Firefox. On older version browsers still no load at all.

It's bollocks. They must restore backwards compatibility and remove the throttling.

That's the syntax I use for k2s and fb free dl's, but I always get 120-130 speed, not 200. Don't know why, it's not a speed limitation on my end. I thought I had seen someone mention alternate syntax at some point for referrer link, I was wondering if that could explain my difference of 130 vs. 200, which is why I asked.

Nope. tried on a smartphone in 4G (so another ISP than with my Win10) and guess what ? 200 KB/s d/l speed (Samsung S20 with Android 12, Chrome latest version, private mode)

The first thing to do when you suspect a problem is to ensure the problem is not on your side. So first try on multiple devices with different IP and multiple browsers, before saying it's k2s fault (I have no interest in this company)

BTW, try this thread to ask for another host if you have a huge K2S/FJ file.
