B.J. Thomas, the Grammy-winning singer who enjoyed success on the pop, country and gospel charts with such hits as “I Just Can’t Help Believing,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head” and “Hooked on a Feeling,” has died. He was 78.

Thomas, who announced in March that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, died from complications of the disease Saturday at his home in Arlington, Texas, his publicist Jeremy Westby said in a statement.

A Hugo, Oklahoma-native who grew up in Houston, Billy Joe Thomas broke through in 1966 with a gospel-styled cover of Hank Williams’ “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and went on to sell millions of records and have dozens of hits across genres. He reached No. 1 with pop, adult contemporary and country listeners in 1976 with ?(Hey Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song.” The same year, his “Home Where I Belong” became one of the first gospel albums to be certified platinum for selling more than 1 million copies.

^^^^^ Your post is inappropriate given the timing, not to mention that the original songwriter of Hooked On A Feeling Mark James (it was about his gf) who coincidentally also wrote Suspicious Minds really enjoyed the Blue Swede version once citing "I'd buy it". BJ Thomas had no problem with it either even after re-recording it in 2013 I believe.

Btw lung cancer which is no joking matter, killed him

Clarence Williams III

Clarence Williams III died June 4 from colon cancer at the age of 81. He is best known for playing one-third of the hip undercover cop trio known as The Mod Squad, opposite Peggy Lipton and Michael Cole. The role made him one of the first Black actors to lead a TV series. Williams also starred in films including Purple Rain, Half Baked, American Gangster, and The Butler.

Ernie Lively

Character actor Ernie Lively, who was also the father of actress Blake Lively, died June 3 of cardiac complications. Lively had a prolific list of credits, predominantly guest-starring on television. Some of his most notable roles came in The Dukes of Hazzard, Turner and Hooch, and two Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films (in which he played daughter Blake's onscreen dad).

Sad news but he had a good life. He did 165 productions in his storied career plus he sang. RIP dear sir.

I have treasured pictures of my William together with Ned and Christopher during Superman II filming in Calgary. Now all 3 are back together in a better place.
