Working with Video in VirtualDub - Tips, Tricks and Tutorials

Hey!

I can't get this to work... I tried like installing every codec there is but i can't seem to let it run with mp4... Which codec/plugins are you guys using?

I am talking about "VirtualDubAPNG" To make an animated gif.

VirtualDub can't open mp4 files without some assistance. The only way to do it is to use DirectShow Source in combination with Avisynth. For more information on using Avisynth see post #9 of this thread.

One caveat - I haven't used VirtualDubAPNG myself so I can't confirm if Avisynth will work with it - but I think it should.

I actually got it to work with FFDSHow codec + Quicktime Plugins for virtualdub
