I don't give a flying fuck about who pays the bills: if PS can't find a sponsor that is universally good for its membership, then it is MY DUTY to complain and I take my duty very seriously.

PS has high traffic (ie: good opportunities to raise much needed revenue) as anyone can verify on alexa: if you must rely on commercial sponsorship, it is counterproductive to do so with such unpopular and exploitative sources.

Slow speed? What slow speed?: I can't download from Vilesonic or Moron at any speed whatsoever. These hosts are quite simply unavailable to a great many users here. It's not an issue of speed, it's an issue of availability.

No it won't. However the criteria for including them in the allowed file host list should not be determined by filthy lucre and should rather be informed by a notion of 'greater good'.

The only logical solution that would allow these hosts to remain here, is to add a rule that would require all content posts hosted on Vilesonic and Moron to be accompanied my a mirror on a more universally accessible host.

But how do we determine what is a universally accessible host?

Its just that there are so many endless threads of folks complaining about one file company or another asking folks to ban this one or that one. Its not that simple. Every file host has some folks that love it and some folks that hate it. Now if I file host was fucking EVERYONE over or was trying to send viruses to all our PCs then thats a different story.

Well, everyone has their favorites: I liked rapidshare, then megaupload, then hotfile and now, my favorite is Filesonic, for their incredible backend (The best I've seen yet).

But what I can't bear is those hosts playing tricks like Oron. The DDL world has to work in harmony: filehosts, boards, imagehosts, users... If you push others around to get ahead, they will push back.
I don't like that they bought over two forums and I don't like the Oron spam cashwhores.
Of course they pay the bills, but I just hope we're not going to lose other forums or users because of them.

I for one have to agree with the Frost Queen.I belong to several other forums and Oron is universally disliked by every one except the people that use the bots and post thousands of times each week, they dont download anything. Anyway I feel better now lol ...Cheers Fox
