I've heard that Cena-Roman rumor, pairing with it is that they're going to try and have Summerslam feel like Mania since it'll, in theory, have a full crowd. Cena did the full-time grind long enough to get a couple coast paychecks in my book, a Cena return does work like Brock in the help move tickets area though.

Money in the Bank is the PPV after Hell in a Cell, so there's a chance(probably not a good one) that Roman could get cashed in on before the Cena situation develops. More likely he has a stupid long win over Cena and loses afterward though.

If he faces John China though isn't Ro going to get cheered? Or are we past that? Will we get more of Vince is a genius, of course he wanted that reaction bollocks. HIAC and MITB are doing nothing for me right now. They need to refresh these themed shows. Cell and ladder matches shouldn't get to a stage of boredom but they don't feel epic anymore, they're like this gone off milk in the fridge that I've unfortunately drank some of.

Themed matches kinda lost the plot a while ago; they were always built up to be these huge, brutal things that shortened careers and they continue to try and build them as such but they're not anymore and it's probably because of the same reason why a lot of the brutal matches don't feel like brutal matches anymore, family-friendly entertainment. Grueling matches no longer feel grueling after all these years of people not being hurt and bleeding.

When HIAC started and for several years after it was full of moments where shit went nuts, people looked like they got hurt, and sometimes they did. Now? Now it's just a bigger cage match and everyone seems to do it. The random match gets a HIAC match, this match gets a HIAC, that match gets HIAC.

It's as gimmicky as the KOTR has become.

Remember when King of the Ring meant something? When they'd hold tournament matches over weeks leading up to the KOTR PPV? Now KOTR is done in one night and it's some stupid thing a guy celebrates stupidly for a year. King this, King that. God I miss those days when KOTR meant something, almost as much as being a Rumble winner and Main Eventer at Mania.

So early returns appear to suggest Eva Marie is a more a manager than an active wrestler with Piper Nevin(I think) as her heater/client. Although they didn't say Piper's name, would be kinda funny if they called her Eva Marie too(until the inevitable break up at least).

What's the REAL reason she's back? It's not because she's a great wrestler or promo. Does Vince like watching her leave after she comes back through the curtain perhaps.

Eva as a valet is an interesting choice as I can't say she's much better in promos than in the ring, obviously she has the look but that alone doesn't work as well anymore long term.

At least she's not back as a wrestler and out there beating Asuka level talent right away like some doomsayers predicted. Still a bit odd you bring in her instead of using say Billie Kay as the valet. But there's always the left hand/right hand/Vince brain problem when it comes to WWE so...

It's probably because she's sorta Instagram popular and likely willing to be one of those people who won't object to the bullshit WWE does with their talent.

Ok, so we've had a couple weeks of Jimmy-Roman tension on Smackdown ever since Uce's return. Usos tag title shot ultimately goes bust thanks to Roman, but it leads to angry dad Rey wanting a title match inside the Cell which is finalized after last week's show.

Suddenly today they moved that match to tomorrow's Smackdown. So aside from the obvious that Rey still isn't winning, I don't know what they're thinking.
