I watched the UK tournament, but just the 2nd day, pretty good matches there, better than anything WWE has put this year so far, especially Mandrews vs Dunn and Bate vs Dunn. You could say that Dunn was the star of the show, but for someone who didn't knew Bate before the tournament I could honestly say the kid made himself a star that weekend

I wasn't thrilled with the crowd, they were great on and off but everybody is already over (including them apparently) and they were doing that fucking 10 thing which is plain trolling.

I like Wolfgang, has that comical face and does the big man flying which is always impressive looking.

Enjoyable tournament but left wondering where the feck they are going from here. Definitely way better than that ITV show they brought back for a one off, wasn't even close.

Good point and you might be right. I do feel Fake Finn was probably meant to advance when you look at how the brackets were set up, since I think Tyler was supposed to overcome a heel in round 2, but I definitely don't think that was the correct finish of the match.

I loved the crowd because they were into it, but they were also having a lot of fun. They really ripped on that "Jesus" looking guy and also that other guy "He's got his whole face on his arse." Maybe that's why I like those post-WrestleMania crowds, too, the songs and the fun they're having.

Wolfgang was fun. He was a nice change of pace from the smaller type wrestler the tournament featured prominently. It makes me wonder why they can't just get rid of a guy like Titus and have Wolfgang replace him.

I wonder too. I'd like to see a lot of these guys on the main roster or in the cruiserweight division eventually. I wonder if the UK title will just be defended in the UK.

Me too! I think it looks a hell of a lot better than the generic belts they have on Raw and Smackdown with the big WW logo on them.

The second day was better but the first day was good too. Two really good ones you missed were Tyler Bate vs. Tucker and Joseph Connors vs. James Drake. Dunn has star written all over him and Bate certainly did make a good impression. I can't believe he's only 19.

I did see Raw this week too, and it was mostly forgettable. I think the main roster is treading water until the Rumble at this point.

So, how about that Rumble, guys? I thought the Rumble match itself was pretty boring. No real surprises there. No Samoa Joe, no Finn Balor, no Angle, no Nakamura, no UK tournament guys. We got Tye Dillinger at 10 but a lot of people called that. I hated the ending. It was a great year for some new blood to win and they had every opportunity to do so, but yet they went with Orton again. I think the reason they had Reigns come out at 30 was they knew he would get booed out of the building, and by eliminating him people would be more receptive to Orton. But this sets up Orton/Cena for the 10 millionth time, right? Ugh.

The rest of the event was pretty good. That Owens/Reigns match for the championship was brutal. But I was disappointed in the Rumble itself. For all of those stars, they were pretty packed together and it made it lame.

The only right thing they did was make Roman a heel now. I guess years of booing does that, right? He better not beat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. But this might be Vince's latest fuck you to the fans. Imagine if Roman wins because Undertaker finally retires? Super deluxe heel.

There wasn't much I didn't hate about the Rumble match...
Most of the time guys were obviously just waiting for their spots, contributing nothing (worst might have been after Cesaro entered). Don't know what to make of Goldberg's and Lesnar's elimination. Couldn't believe they let Goldberg destroy Lesnar again, only to let Goldberg get eliminated on a stupid spot.
Undertaker looked old, out of shape and bad to me, lost every interest I had left in seeing him wrestle again.
Only entertaining part was watching The Miz, whose only role appeared to be to take the first move by each new participant.

I think that they sent Reigns out there so people would cheer an Orton win. I think Roman being involved definitely increased the elation. It went from a possible "meh, Orton won" to "thank fuck Orton won." If there's one lesson WWE should have learned from the last several years it's that if you have someone in the Rumble that the fans really don't want, in like a counter-productive toxic way, don't let them win the Royal Rumble. So they did that.

I tend to think WWE views this Orton/Wyatts stuff as being a bigger deal than it is portrayed on SD. Think about it. Orton and Wyatt dominated and won at Survivor Series. Orton won tonight. Yet in between they won and lost the tag belts and Orton has done a ton of jobs on TV of late. He really had no real momentum of any kind, which oddly seems like the time they pull the trigger and push Orton harder (kinda like in 2013 where he had no particular momentum going into MITB and actually lost to Christian).

My only thought about Reigns is that he has to be turning heel. First off, do some math. Balor will be back at some point. Rollins is just in the midst of being an anti authority babyface type. Either Owens or Jericho will turn. There is just nowhere for Reigns to go as a face on Raw at this point, so turn him heel and have him be HHH's new pet project, except one that isn't constantly being aided by run ins. Sweet Lucifer, the guy was gifted #30 when he wasn't even scheduled to be in the Rumble. How else can that be explained in storyline unless he's being gifted chances by Steph/HHH? Did Foley give him 30 to make up for Jericho's antics and Strowman's run in? And what was even the point of the Strowman run in if Reigns didn't cost him the Rumble and the two men never even faced off?
