Regarding the firefight. Starting from left to right, once the two cars pull up and the 6 people totaling Jacks crew, I can see how they don't get shot to pieces right away.

The dude on the far left has an AA-12, fully auto shotgun will not hit **** from that range.

The guy driving that car whips out some sort of assault rifle, looks like an M16 or something similar. Good gun for this situation, bad angle though as he being mostly on the right, has the SUV blocking some of his view of the two.

Todd has a pistol and is not firing at children, clearly not killing anybody here.

Jack has a pistol, and didn't get lucky with his first couple shots, rate of success significantly dropped after that.

The two dudes on the right have the best chance of killing Hank/Gomez, however the one on the far right has what looks like some type of light machine gun (basically very similar to the M60 that future Walter has) which he is stabilizing on the angled part of a car door. These guns have absurd kick even compared to the average firearm, his accuracy here will be horrible and likely nothing more than suppression fire.

The guy who is standing on the seat above the truck who comes out the rear passenger side has the best chance of hitting these guys. He has what looks like an M16 or some similar variation, and he has the best angle, his biggest problem though? Just like everybody else, he's using a ****ty iron sight and unless he's got a very sharp shot, it will be tough even for him at that range to kill instantly.

So yeah, imo what happened isn't really show breaking unrealistic.

Yeah, I noticed that too...
Maybe he's firing some type of slug out of that thing,
which would make it a bit more practical in a gunfight of that range.

Meanwhile Walt gets furious at the Nazi's and refuses to work with them... But being handcuffed he's not in a great position to negotiate.
