Germany fell to the latest champions "curse". Teams, even lesser ones, want to impress against world champions so they give their all.
France won WC 1998, but fell in group stages in 2002. Italy won 2006 WC and lost at group stage in 2010 (and 2014). Spain won in 2010 and lost at group stage in 2014. Germany won 2014 WC and got wrecked at gs in this 2018 WC.
Italy and Netherlands are out thanks to Sweden and their old Italian style football.
Brazil is too dependent on the frail Neymar. They are nowhere as good as in 2002 (ahum... Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho). They did not impress me in any of the games played. The game against Mexico was a decent one, no more , no less.
France has always been the favourite to win this world cup in my opinion.
They have the two best midfielders in the game nowadays plus that flash Mbappe.
Modric and Hazard are leading their respective teams.
To me England is the only surprise in the bunch.
And thank god for the VAR!

Im in a state of shock.

I stupidly put bets on first set piece unknowingly, because im new to gambling and betting online, and i thought if any of the following - goal kick, free kick, throw in - occured within 5 mins then i'd win those bets. but during the game, i found out i only won the free kick. I was shocked by that and disappointed on how i didnt know that.

then i put the money on england to score first. and i got up to 500. i put 500 on england to score second but then croatia scored and i lost that. i put 1000 on england to score again and they didnt. then in extra time 2nd half i put 1000 on a draw and croatia scored again. and i lost 2.5k

worst day of my life lol.

i only have 500 left. i dont know how im gonna win that 2.5k back.

Disappointing, but the future looks bright with all that young talent and Southgate in charge. I had England reaching the final in a small bet, I hope Croatia win it for being such an underdog.
