Welcome back Alan! I was wondering where you had been as well. Can't wait to hear your take on the WrestleMania match rankings after you read the article. It's interesting, I believe we tend to think of match quality from back then sucking mainly based on Hogan/Warrior style matches of the era, but there was also a lot of better stuff going on. Even some I didn't even know about! I didn't begin watching wrestling until the 90's, but I recently was watching the "Rise and Fall of WCW" DVD matches. Some of those matches from the 80's were great! Specifically ones featuring Ric Flair. Maybe just WWF match quality sucked back then? Regardless, Bret/Owen remains my favorite mania match.
Interesting article with Jericho. I find it kind of sad that anything they say in a promo nowadays has to be approved by McMahon and then go through some creative writing process. It makes me wonder if there will ever again be a genuine, unscripted moment that creates a huge star. I wonder how Austin and Rock's careers would have went if they weren't allowed to say what was on their minds and create the memorable promos they did? What's up with everyone in that last post pointing? |

Oh I hear ya. I'm just speculating at what MIGHT happen, not will happen. It only seems fitting for Bryan to get his revenge on HHH at SS cause that's where all this started. It's just a theory, nothing more, but I'm only going on what HHH said himself, that he screwed Bryan at SS and began the roller coaster ride. I doubt very much it will play out like that, but you never know. Can't wait to see what happens at WM30.

Cena was a presenter at the Kids Choice Awards yesterday. I can understand him with Nikki, but what the hell is her sister doing there?
Daniel Bryan should knee Cena in the face. Joking aside, I wouldn't share this until the match actually happened, but I'm impatient and thinking of what this guy could bring to WWE, especially when wrestling Adrian Neville. Quote:

I got more accustomed to seeing her with a bloodied face years ago. I think she took a chairshot to the head in an indy show and bladed. I can't remember. The image is the first that comes to mind with her...
Anyways, a bodybuilder blogged about the recent Performance Center training camp. I recently read that 3 ROH wrestlers attended a tryout in the Performance Center, I assume part of that camp: Kevin Steen (who really slimmed down to 240lbs compared to last year, 2 years, 4 years with the giant stomach then); ACH; and Roderick Strong. Since there's 25 confirmed spots filled for the Battle Royal, that puts doubt that either of these guys will make it to the main show for that. Ugh. Couldn't they drum up some match out of the blue or something? I just realized too that Wrestlemania 30 will probably have tons of self-imposed commercial breaks, that when combined for total time, would be plenty to squeeze the tag title match in. Yet another great interview with Batista that is doing more in making me turn 180 on the guy than what he's been doing on TV! Once again making a good point about the TV live event fans, his love for house shows, praising some current talent including Daniel Bryan. Praise Hunter of course, and he talked about the first true match with Daniel Bryan that was on RAW in 2010. How he wanted a competitive match with the guy rather than a squash that was ordered from the powers that be. I do remember that, it was a Beat The Clock match. He also reminded me of the rage causing comments he made after Bryan won the World Heavyweight Championship. He claims it was from shock and the opinion they gave him the title too early. I disagree since now it's an irreversible part of history that contributed to the chain reaction caused from Wrestlemania 28, as well as Bryan's first proof of being a great character, not just wrestler. Still, great interview. And here's one with Heyman, also nice. |
