This marks day # 15 off from work since March 1st. That being said, I've visited here, but have not posted much recently.
The garage project is still in progress, much slower progress of late. I did sell a shelving unit and some bottles. I've got 30 listings on a "sell nearby" type of website, and got a few possibilities of sales in the next few days. I finished the touch up painting on the fence I painted in April, and finished a painting project my wife made up out of thin air. Yeah, those didn't need painting; she could have bought those in the right color. I also painted a patio end table that was gifted by a neighbor. I was helping her clean her back yard, and I thought, here's a metal stake that shouldn't be here. When I pulled it, turns out it was a table buried upside down, the other three legs hidden by the shrub that had grown over it. I told the neighbor obviously not using this, I'll take it off your hands. The reply was, no, I'll clean that up and use it; no, I won't, go ahead. So it has been cleaned, sanded, and painted to match the other patio furniture. |

I'm co-ordinating with [Redacted] here in the UK to raise money which is disseminated among various pro choice gun groups. It isn't loads, but we've managed to raise $26,000 in 2 weeks.

Made it through another day without killing myself, so that's something I guess. However, it feels more like a failure than an accomplishment.

Don´t hold it all inside of you. It will just drive you crazy. Try to think POSITIVE and put a smile on your face ! There are so many nice things in life to take pleasure in. A few years back I was very depressed too. So I put myself doing some photoshop art and collecting MP3 music. I started out to collect the world´s best albums and my favorite bands music. I even started to make a collection of music .... since the "stone age" until todays music ! I now have ALOT of terabytes of fantastic music, and I have listened to them all. It made me feel very good and kept me busy discovering new and wonderful things I did not know before. I also researched their musical history and the many cool stories behind the songs. Lando Griffin, if you find yourself a hobby to do on a daily basis, YOU will FEEL alot better with yourself ! Don´t just sit around waiting for some thing to happen, or for some "lucky charm" to drop on your lap. You have to get up and starting doing something which YOU will feel good about. Do not think about money, or being a "millionaire", or wanting to buy a Ferrari. --- Never do that. It will just drive you even more crazy, because that is all TV and magazines tell you is the "cool thing" to do, and most publicity/ads are just bullshit. What matters is for you to start feeling good about yourself by having a hobby and keeping busy doing it. Soon enough you will make lots of friends with similar hobby interests and you WILL FEEL ALOT BETTER about yourself If you want to talk to someone, we here in Planetsusy are ALL your friends!

I logged in this morning and April 10th is screaming at me. April 10, 2022: I begged my boss not to schedule me today. "This is April 10th; you know how I feel." No matter. The boss gives me that standard boss boilerplate, "best man for the job," "needs to be done," you know the story. So I lead a third of a team into a warehouse for a cleanup project. In ten hours my team accomplishes what the normal Monday to Friday team completes in ten hours. There are a number of factors for this. One, I managed a warehouse this size for 26 years before I accepted my current position. Two, the current warehouse manager is a complete idiot who lives by the code of "if I can make this task take three times longer, I'll get overtime." There's this one song that occasionally plays on the overhead satellite feed in the warehouse. When I hear it, I lose my shit. This is April 10th, and Sunday, if I hear this song today, I don't know how long it will take to pull myself together. Because you never forget the song that is playing on the radio when someone tells you the best friend you ever had . . . * I did really well. The song never played that day and I stayed focused. I may start working on April 10th again. The alternative is listening to that song and others and drinking myself into a stupor. I'm cross posting this. If a mod gets knickers in a knot, so be it. * |

Thank you guys so much for the kind words. I hope I don't come off as too whiny, but when I'm having a rough time, I like to post about it here and hope for some words of encouragement, because believe me, those words mean a lot and are very helpful. I had to take a couple days away from the forum, but I'm feeling better now. At least until the next time, lol. Alexora, to answer your question: we have hotlines to call in the U.S., but I've never bothered with them. From what I understand, all they do is read off a script. Max, thanks so much for the advice. Wallingford, I'm so glad to hear you're making progress. I know, but sometimes it doesn't feel that way. |
