Well, the controller came in today by UPS and it looks really pretty in the package,
and out of all my PC games, everything I have is pretty much point & click, so I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I erred on shipping for the game though and it is coming through the regular post office, so it will probably be March before I get it. I have a vision of it strapped to a yak's ass and it's just starting up the Rocky Mountains. It was a third party seller, not Amazon itself so no tracking. |

Ever thought about a joystick?
This one might suit you but I don't reckon it will last longer than a week before it's worn out... even comes with it's own control pad! |

I use it with Genesis/Megadrive and SNES emulations, as well as with MAME arcade games. Right now, I'm using it on Tomb Raider Underworld and it performs flawlessly. It is worth, however, checking that a game actually supports a joypad: I had to complete Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with mouse and keyboard since my version does not support joypads...

So I get the game in this morning only to find you need Steam to play it.
(I looked at where I bought it, and yes I noticed I'd missed that fact...no biggie.) Came with 2 discs and upon installing it, it only asked for the one disc and tries to download the remaining 11GB of the game through my 160kbps internet connection. (Only 14 hours!) I figured I screwed something up and uninstalled/re-installed and yup...same thing. (Never asks for the second disc.) As I was coming over to Mom in law's for this weekend, I'm delaying it until Monday, and sent a e-mail to Square-Enix (makers of the game) asking why did I bother buying discs to begin with, if I've got to download half of the game over the internet..? Only found a few small threads containing this problem, and the current solution made by others was to just go ahead and download the rest of it. (nothing official, just fan based tech forums) |
