here's something i didn't know before

every time you upload an image to an image hosting site not only does the site have your IP address on record, but they also inspect and monitor every image you upload

when you see an image come up on your post and see a thumbnail which says the image has been removed due to a copyright claim, aren't you afraid you might get a written warning from DMCA?

or here's an even more drastic measure

you could be reported to Interpol who will then track you down and abduct you, aren't you afraid of that possiblity?

every time i upload an image, i upload it using the default uploader provided on this site and i don't even need to sign up for an account

i am also confident that my images won't be removed because they are usually video screenshots or images found in the yahoo search results which you can already find for free to begin with

Its pretty much the same with filehosting sites - copyright owners got the opertunity to remove links which are under their rights.
There are other laws who protect users ( privacy policy ) which prohibit the providers to look for things in your account. Thats why every Hoster has his own TOS ( Terms of Service ) which you have to accept before you upload anything.

Thankfully I live in a country where I don't have to fear those blackmail letters. Even if they were to get a hold of my IP through a hoster my ISP would simply block their efforts by not releasing my personal information. People who are afraid of such should just use a VPN, problem solved.

it's a little late now, i have most probably uploaded over 100 images on the hosting site using my normal IP address

everything i uploaded was to PimpAndHost done anonymously, and because i don't have account, it is in their hands to decide whether it's looks good enough
