I know that feeling
 I use a Clonezilla LiveCD for such tasks, weapon of choice after a very bad experience with Western Digital Caviar drives. (One of them died just after updating and configuring a Win7 install... "Ok, we are good to go, time to backup everything and... wait, what was that noise!?") That's one of the reasons I download all updates manually through Internet Explorer and save them externally, no way in hell I'm gonna make a system wide backup everytime they decide to roll a couple of those updates and no way in hell I'm gonna sit through the download process twice. *humph* >:[ |
