alternative possibility
Myself owns 2 external Lacie HD-drives designed by Porsche (the bigger one for clips and movies; the smaller one for music, e-books, pictures and other multimedia stuff).
A few days ago, a working mate of mine offered me the idea about an own server. By taking that option, you'd get access to all your mails, movies, music, web-account/web-page and all the rest of your possibly storaged stuff from each computer - doesn't matter where you are or which machine you're using. Of course, you have to spend more of your finances to keep it running. And last but not least, as long as I am concerned, I'm not such a "busied business-man" who is in need or must-have for that multimedia.

Sure the more you pay, you'll get better download speeds, but for normal uses, the difference is not noticeable. I have a 5 year old Linksys upstairs in my office and I use my lap downstairs in the yard with no problem. I can also tap into my neighbor's line, three houses away. The idiot hasn't protected his yet, after two years.

After much waiting, and other more pressing purchases, I scored. Went to BestBuy to order a Western Digital 320GB HD for $69.95. Proving the old saying that even a blind squirrel can find a nut, it rang up as $48.99. Will have it by next weekend.
Thanks again for all the input...
