![]() Unknown (2011)
![]() A thriller with a nice plot and very good actors. You won't regret watching this movie. 8/10 Edit: Oh, I forgot, this movie is set in Berlin... an unusual place for a movie but very nice. |

![]() ![]() A bit dated (from 1988) but holds up well. Love how the bellhop brags about the swanky hotel room containing a remote control, radio and TV. If you want to learn about how phone usage was back in the dark ages before cells, there are many good scenes of pay phones and a plug-into-the-wall push button. Harrison Ford plays against type and does it very well. His usual mannerisms, which I always like anyway, are almost nonexistent. The young girl who helps him (kind of) is dressed up in late 80's punk and looks good, but it reminded me of how bad "sexy" was bad then. No wonder we have holes in the ozone with the amount of hairspray girls used back then. Roman Polanski directed and though done well, there were several scenes were the editing wasn't quick enough. I like his later works much better. Some implausibilty in the movie and I don't think the title, "Frantic", quite jives with the actual pace or emotion of the film. It's more slow. Perhaps, "Concerned" would have been a better title. Overall, a 6.5 on a ten scale. Good movie during a crappy rainy day. |

![]() true romance ![]() True Romance is a 1993 American romance crime film written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott. The film stars Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette with an ensemble cast consisting of Christopher Walken, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Chris Penn, Tom Sizemore, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Corrigan, James Gandolfini and Brad Pitt. I'd forgotten how much I liked this movie. Funny, action, and some great quentin tartantino dialogue. And brad pitt is perfect in his small part. |
