The FOX network announced Monday that it is canceling "America's Most Wanted" as a regular series after 23 years, Deadline.com reported.
FOX Broadcasting entertainment president Kevin Reilly said during a conference call with reporters that "economically, it didn't make sense" to continue airing "America's Most Wanted" as a series.
The show -- the longest-running series on the network -- will still have a presence in the form of four two-hour specials, Reilly said.
He added that host and producer John Walsh is in talks with News Corp. -- parent company of FOX Broadcasting and NewsCore -- to continue the "America's Most Wanted" brand with another division of the company.
To date, the show has led to the capture of 1,151 fugitive criminals.

That and the T.V. show Cops. There was never an episode that did not have the cops going into a white trash trailer or house and seeing the same thing every time and the people were never surprised to see law enforcement there.

I hate that the show went off but I do understand.

Maybe the next time the show comes back on, John Walsh and the rest will catch several or more fugitives.
