What's Your Favorite Anime?

I'm watching Hellsing and Ghost in the Shell at the moment, love both of them. My anime knowledge though is very limited so if any one can recommend anything I would be grateful!

I would recomend watching any of these series as decent and worth your time:

If you like Hellsing, then I would highly recommend Trinity Blood. Which has an more gripping storyline.

Haven't seen any recently. But Ghost in the Shell is my all-time favorite.
Wicked City and Ninja Scroll are also very good.

First ever favorite was Fist of the North Star(Hokuto No Ken), Kenshiro and Raoh, awesome.

Then:

Gintama - My favorite anime of all time, the humor an action are great. Especially the humor, if you read a lot of manga or watch a lot of anime this will make you laugh your ass off, I think this is the only series of it's kind, it breaks the fourth wall, references other series and voice actors, it's great. Wish I could find it on DVD.

Hajime No Ippo - Best fighting that I have seen in an anime, Ippo vs. Sendo is untouchable.

Samurai Champloo - Capoeira/Breakdancing swordsman Mugen. Awesome series, the action and comedy are top notch.

Black Lagoon - Revy is sooo freaking hot... I want a girl like Revy...

One Piece - I hate pirates but this series was completely not what I thought it was going to be, Roronoa Zorro is awesome. Love both the Manga and the Anime although the previous arc in the manga and the current arc in the amine drag on for a really long time without the characters you care about...

Fairy Tail - Same as One Piece, I hate wizards and magic but this manga/anime changed how wizards and magic can be portrayed.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi - Wish they would reboot this series with a more faithful to manga story and better voice actors, but I love the artwork for the manga.

Bleach - I don't like this series anymore becuase the latest story arc dragged on for soo long but Zaraki Kenpachi is one of my favorite anime characters of all time, ultimate badass.

Trinity Blood was a decent series too I just didn't care for the pacing and it felt rushed at the end.

If you are interested in new series airing now as we speak here are a few decent ones...

Dragon Crisis - takes place in a alt earth where dragons exist alongside humans and look like any other human until they transform. This boy and his cousin are artifact hunters (black market dragon related artifacts are big $$$) and steal a trunk from bad guys to turn over to a museum only to open the trunk and find a cute blond girl (who already knows his name) thats actually a red dragon.

Freezing - another alt earth where giant alien robots invade occasionally and the only ones capable of fighting them are female warriors that are bad ass fighters. Each girl is partnered with a boy that has the ability to freeze or slow down the alien robots. Lots of fan service, blood, and gore in this one.

Gosick - Set around the time of WW1 this young guy meets a small blond genius girl in the schools library and they get involved in solving mysteries (similar to Sherlock Holmes). Her brother is a bumbling police captain and its actually the young girl and boy that solve the crimes. Can be very suspenseful and the crimes and story itself are well done.

Kore Wa Zombie Desuka - young guy is murdered by a serial killer only to be brought back to life by a beautiful mute necromancer. She comes to live with him, as well as a vampire ninja, and a magical girl and they try to catch the serial killer. This series can be very funny and also has some gore.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Starts out and appears as a magical anime (like Cardcaptor Sakura or Magical Girl Nanoha) but turns out to be anything but. It has quite a few disturbing and creepy images and really shocked the anime world when after the 2nd episode it turned dark. The series was promoted as a cute magical girl anime when the director knew all along it wasnt going to be. A very well done series.

All these series are on their 4th episodes this week so if you look on torrents or other sites its not too late to catch them from the beginning.

"Sword of the Stranger" is one of the best full length anime movies I have seen in a really long time. the fighting in here is pretty amazing.

Guyver - Classic, love the suits.

DBZ Brolli Saga - I don't care much for DBZ but I thought Brolli looked cool and loved how he brutalized all the characters.

Same here. It's been awhile since I've been to planetsuzy and I've been reading Claymore since 2004 when the mangas were available and subbed in English. I cannot safely say it's my fave anime because the anime version did NOT faithfully follow the manga.
which also pissed off the die-hards like myself but anything made by Madhouse, which is the equivalent of Warner Bros. in Japan is top-notch. They recently did the now-ended Iron Man series (yes, they broadcast the anime version of Iron Man in Japan) which I watched and currently also did the Wolverine anime series...also currently being broadcast in Japan (episode 4 this week).

I belong to a fansub group and volunteer my timing expertise if I like the anime being offered.

Off the top of my head right now, I would seriously say my favorite anime which I will never get sick and tired off is Macross, Dragonball, Evangelion, Claymore, Iron Man, Samurai 7, Mazinger...for now.
