got few questions please

1- how to delete a thread, i made my introduction thread and couldn't find a delete button

2- how to delete a reply, can't find any button

2- i read "Default FAQ - Junior Member Frequently Asked Questions" thread and there was no achieve to unlock or number of thanks to reach in order to gain a promotion to "registered user" i just have to read and understand the rules and contact a moderator

3- do i have to own the files of the links i post(allowed hosts ofc), in other words can i post links from other forums

You can't delete a thread or a reply, but you can edit it and a moderator will get rid of it for you when it is seen.

Edit your post/thread with "please delete" or "please remove". Good idea to include a "Thanks".

2. There's no hard and fast number... we're looking to see if you're a "contributing" member, and not just here to steal some media. If/when we see you contributing (and there are many ways to do so), we'll suggest a promotion to admins.
3. No, but we do ask that you 'shield' them (generally using the 'code' hack) to avoid Spider Bots, and possible removal by hosts. Make sure you read the rules, specifically paying attention to not posting external websites, using only approved file hosts, as well as not posting prohibited content.

- except uploading and posting videos how can i contribute? i don't think commenting is considered an active effective contribution, is there a thread that i should read?

- can you please briefly explain "shielding links"?

You can find the "Thanks" button at the bottom of any post (it's the one with the thumbs up icon).

There are plenty of ways in which you can give your contribution, you can post and participate either in discussion sections (friendly, funny and interesting posts are always welcome), post your music, books, comics, movies or wallpapers (make sure to ALWAYS read any section rules before posting, though), and just try to be as active as possible.

Even I, when I first joined this forum, almost 7 years ago, I didn't know where to start, or what to post.
But then I found myself more and more passionate and in love with the general vibe of the forum, and I just found that I enjoyed sharing/commenting/posting in this forum, than in any social media platform I ever used.
And PS, after all these years, has sort of become my "second home".
I rarely ever go to any other website/forum anymore.

As far as any promotion goes, you'll be taken into consideration by Staff when the time is right, and when we see that you have been a good-standing member.

I say, don't hurry. Take your time, and get familiar with the forum, first.
And, always remember that Staff is always here to help, if you have any problems/questions.

As for your question about "shielding links", Lonewolf meant to use the [code] tag for any external link, and DO NOT post any active link (ie. http://google.com) in any post, as they're not allowed.

If you need to post a URL to, say, a NY Times article or something, your link should look this way:

http://nytimes.com/international/

and not like this: http://nytimes.com/international/

Just use the gate button in advanced editor and paste your URL link in between.

Depends on which "waters" you swim.
Here you can only find friendly members and Staff.
We don't punish members at their very first error, but we explain to them, patiently, where they have made a mistake and how to not make it again.

You will enjoy this forum, for sure, once you get the hang out of it.
