For the most part, yes. Most of the speed is based on the internet anyway.

Having said that, it depends on the computer and then, more likely than just the browser, how many plugins are running.

It sort of depends too on your internet service. I live in a very rural area and for years have had to deal with sub-par internet service. Finally - after all of these years, we have fiber optic service and a 1 gig connection rate. The connection rate actually runs close to the 1 gig that is advertised.

Back to the browser. From my experience, firefox, brave, edge, and opera are all great browsers. As Lone Wolf has stated, Chrome is extremely slow. It hogs the computer resources and makes the computer system unstable, where everything just quits working.

I finally got fed up with Chrome and having to shut it down over and over due to the resources it was using and don't use it anymore.

So perhaps the answer to your question is yes and yes. It does depend on internet service and it does depend on the browser.

Still love Firefox, but it's increasingly awful for YT and some other sites. I use Brave and Vivaldi too for things like that. Nice to have a mix.

Mostly depends on how fast requests are answered and page weight.
