Cancer isn't a thing, it is many things. Many cancers can be cured. (In fact most can if detected early enough.) But some can't.

It is extremely unlikely anyone will ever find a cure for cancer.

It will be a long time but everything will be cured eventually, most likely a combination of medicine & technology.

Drugs & medical procedures to extend life then repairing age or disease related damage with biotechnology and nanotechnology we will in theory be able to indefinitely extend healthy life. as with everything else, how soon we get there will depend greatly on how much money is put into it.

And perhaps getting rid of a lot of the poisons that are in the American diet would help as well. Lots of information coming out about things we eat here that are banned as cancer causing in other countries.

I am currently "cancer free". I had prostate cancer. I went through a therapy treatment where they jammed a whole bunch of radioactive "seeds" into my prostate. Those seeds created a radioactive "cloud" around my prostate killing all the cancer cells. That was a number of years ago; I explained it here back them. Now after that, would you say it "cured" my cancer or that "technology" was able to kill that cancer. Generally speaking, I don't fucking care. I'm cancer free one way or another.

I'm cancer free too. Had colon cancer back in 2015, surgically removed it with no additional treatments.

Shows the importance of having a colonoscopy. Didn't take radiation, chemo, or anything else like that, just caught it early. Cancer free for 10 years, now, have the procedure every 3 years now just to make sure it doesn't come back, and if it does, it is caught early.

My oldest son is really excited about it. Normally the age to start getting checked is 50, however with his dad having cancer, his first test is next year at 40.

Although this is getting off topic from Electric Jesus; I totally agree. The Standard American Diet (SAD) is just terrible. The food pyramid should be flipped upside down; More protein, healthy fats, more veggies and WAY, WAY, WAY, less carbs/sugars (same thing, carbs turn into sugar in the body). On top of that, our food is filled to the brim with preservatives (poisons), etc. And guess what, sugar, which Americans eat a fuckton of, is a preservative in itself.

You could say "we were lied to" and "follow the money" and you wouldn't be wrong. However, I also think it's up to the individual to take some personal responsibility to educated themselves and make better choices. Getting educated has never been easier; We all, at the very least, have pocket computers now. I also do recognize that making better choices easier said than done, if you've spent a lifetime on SAD and its delicious junk food; Sugar/carbs are very powerful and addictive drugs. As humans evolved, we learned to eat the most calorically dense foods, because we didn't know where/when our next meal was. This works against us now, because you can drive down the road to a fast food place (burning practically zero calories) and pound 4,000 calories into your face hole, if you're inclined. Or have that shit delivered and burn even less calories...

I also do realize that eating outside of SAD is kind of expensive, but I think it's cheaper than the health consequences of a lifetime of the SAD.
