Make the filehost searchable
As we touched on a little previously, filehosts aren't really searchable at PS. I still think it would make perfect sense to make it a rule that the file host name has to be included in the required file data.
Rule 6 at present in PATM Video threads with examples in Green and my idea in Red. File Size: 85 MB Playing Time: 4:37 Video resolution: 640x480 File type: AVI File Host: DepositFiles, Fileboom, FileJoker, 1fichier, Garbagefiles, etc The benefits are obvious, by making the filehost searchable it would positively help the good Samaritan Posters who use the "Goodguy Hosts" with no thought to monetary gain, and it might also cause some of the "MoneyGuy Posters" to add a better Filehost to drum up traffic to their posts? Come on Admins & MODS let's get this done. You know I'm right and if you don't believe me, do a forum wide search for Garbagefiles. This would be easily implemented and older posts would of course be exempt from RULE:6b |

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the reason filehosts aren't searchable is because links aren't searchable. So if that could be changed, that would be easier and more effective than changing the rules, since we do not enforce changes to the rules retroactively.

People often include host names but they are usually abbreviated. So Filejoker becomes FJ. Depositfiles DF etc etc etc.
That being the case it would be impossible to search filehosts unless the complete name were used and that would have to be a rule or you'd have to change search limits from the 4 characters and over that stands now. Searching links capability I don't think is a rule change so much as how the pages are set up by the cybermonkies who program them. Searches would have to be able to turn up the first part of the link only and what do you do when people embed the links in the filename like this? Would you ban that?

As an aside on the search thing, one tiny change I'd like (it may be possible already but I've never been able to figure it out if it is) when you do a search for a particular scene/file/movie and you get your list of posts in the search results. why when you open one can you not just open the post? Why do you have to open the entire thread page and have to wait for it to unfold like garbage spewing out of Mary Poppins' handbag? The time energy and bandwidth saved by that one little adjustment would be immense!

YES!
And there's a corresponding little selection dot in the dropdown search at the top of the page and in the top corner of each page or section or whatever. Amazing how that works, eh? BUT! (and it is a big BUT to the power of 20 on the JLO scale) When you open one of those posts you have searched for so cleverly, the whole bloody page opens and not just that one post. It's like watching idiots spill out of a clown car, and depending on how many graphics are contained there, can take an absolute bloody age to load, causing the page to constantly jump about like an epileptic and making fast navigation nigh impossible till it's done. THAT is the facility I'd change. The capacity to open a single post from a search and not the entire page on which that post is contained. Pretty sure you misunderstood my initial observation.
